EDD physician extension form submitted - no confirmation. How to check status?
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle. I sent in my physician extension form to EDD a while back, but I haven't heard anything. I'm getting worried because this affects my benefits. Has anyone been through this? Any advice on how to check if they received it or how to get it reviewed? I'm not sure what to do next and I really need this sorted out.

Ugh, I feel ya. EDD is such a pain to deal with. I had a similar issue last year. Have you tried calling them? It's a nightmare, but sometimes it's the only way to get answers.

I've been trying to call, but it's impossible to get through. I've been on hold for hours and then get disconnected. It's so frustrating!

Pro tip: call right when they open. Like, set an alarm and be ready to dial the second they start taking calls. It's still a pain, but your chances are way better.

Or try calling at the end of the day. Sometimes theres less traffic then and you might get lucky š

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Does it really work? $20 seems steep just to make a phone call.

I was skeptical too, but it actually worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth it if you're desperate.

Idk man, paying to talk to a government agency feels wrong. Shouldn't this be free?

I get it, but think about how much time and stress it saves. For me, it was worth every penny.

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes they update stuff there without sending a notification. Might be worth a look.

Okay, listen up because I've been through this rodeo before. Here's what you need to do: ā¢ First, log into your EDD account online and check for any updates or messages. Sometimes they update stuff without telling you. ā¢ If nothing's there, you need to fax (yes, fax š) another copy of your form. Use a cover sheet that clearly states it's a resend and include the date of your original submission. ā¢ Next, send a secure message through your EDD account. Explain that you submitted the form, haven't heard back, and have now resent it. Ask for confirmation. ā¢ If you still don't hear anything after a week, it's time to call. Use the trick others mentioned about calling right when they open. ā¢ Keep a log of all your attempts to contact them. If you end up needing to escalate, this will be crucial. ā¢ As a last resort, contact your local state representative. They often have liaisons who can cut through the red tape. Remember, persistence is key with EDD. Don't give up! šŖ

Fr fr. We're already struggling and they make us fight for every penny. It's exhausting.

Hey OP, just curious - how long ago did you submit the form? Might help others gauge how long the wait times are these days.

It's been about 3 weeks now. I thought that would be plenty of time, but I guess not with EDD š

3 weeks? That's nothing lol. I waited 2 months before I heard anything back. EDD time is like dog years šā³

Not to be that guy, but have you double-checked that you sent it to the right address/fax/whatever? I once spent weeks waiting only to realize I messed up the address š¤¦āāļø

Idk if this helps, but I had a similar issue and it turned out my doctor hadn't filled out the form completely. Might be worth checking with them to make sure everything was filled out correctly.

I wouldn't trust AI with my benefits info. Sounds like a disaster waiting to happen.
