EDD Recertification Received? Sent Monday, No Response - Help!

Hey everyone, I'm trying to figure out if my recertification was received by the EDD. I sent it from my doctor on Monday, but I haven't heard anything back. Has anyone else had trouble with this? I'm getting worried because I really need to know if everything's good with my claim. Any advice on how to check or what to do next?

I found a way to solve EDD recertification status uncertainty, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XKYAqOJh600

Ugh, I feel ya. The EDD is such a pain to deal with. I had the same issue last month and it took forever to get an answer. Have you tried calling them? That's usually the fastest way to get info.

I've been trying to call but can never get through. It's so frustrating! šŸ˜«

Pro tip: call right when they open. I usually have better luck getting through that way.

Calling is useless tbh. I've wasted hours on hold and never got anywhere. There's gotta be a better way

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

$20? That's highway robbery! The EDD should be accessible for free.

I get the skepticism, but it seriously saved me so much time and stress. Worth every penny imo.

How long did it take to get through using this service?

It took about 2 hours for me, but I didn't have to sit there listening to hold music. They just called me when an agent was on the line.

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes they update the status there before they actually contact you.

I've been in the same boat, OP. Here's what I've learned about dealing with EDD recertifications: ā€¢ Always keep copies of everything you send them. EVERYTHING. ā€¢ Check your online account daily for updates. ā€¢ If you don't see any changes after a week, start calling. ā€¢ Be persistent. Sometimes it takes multiple attempts to get through. ā€¢ If calling fails, try reaching out via email or their contact form. ā€¢ As a last resort, contact your local assembly member's office. They can often help push things through. Remember, the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Don't be afraid to be annoying - it's your money and you need it! Good luck!

Wow, thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely start checking my online account more often.

Have you tried faxing your recertification? I know it sounds old school, but sometimes it's faster than mail and you can get a confirmation that it was received.

I didn't even think about faxing! Do you know if they have a specific fax number for recertifications?

Yeah, it's on their website under the 'Contact Us' section. Just make sure to include your claim number on every page!

Guys, I've worked for the EDD (don't hate me lol). Here's the deal: recertifications can take up to 10 business days to process. If it's been longer than that, definitely follow up. And pro tip: always send important docs via certified mail so you have proof of delivery.

10 DAYS?! Some of us can't wait that long for our benefits. The system is broken af

I hear ya. It's frustrating for us too. We're understaffed and overworked. Just trying to give some insight from the other side.

idk if this helps but I had a similar issue last year. Turns out my doctor's office forgot to sign one of the forms šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø Might be worth double-checking all the paperwork is filled out correctly
