EDD claim approved but no Money Network card received - can't access funds. Help!

Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle here. My unemployment claim was approved, but I still haven't received my Money Network Prepaid Debit Card. It's been weeks now, and I can't access any of my funds. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on how to speed up the process or who to contact? I'm getting really worried about bills piling up.

Ugh, I feel your pain! I went through the same thing last month. It's so frustrating when you're approved but can't actually use the money. Have you tried calling the EDD? Fair warning though, it's like trying to win the lottery to get through to a real person.

Thanks for the sympathy. Yeah, I've been trying to call EDD for days now. It's either busy signals or getting disconnected after being on hold forever. 😫 Any other ideas?

Pro tip: try calling right when they open. I got through after only 30 mins of hold time that way. Good luck!

Thanks for the tip! I'll give that a shot tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed 🤞

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Anyone else tried it?

I was skeptical at first too, but it really worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imho.

$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken 🤦‍♂️

I get it, but when you're waiting on thousands in benefits, $20 to actually get help seemed worth it to me. To each their own tho!

Here's what worked for me: 1. Double-check your mailing address on file with EDD. Sometimes cards get sent back if the address is wrong. 2. If it's been more than 10 business days since your claim was approved, call Bank of America EDD Debit Card Customer Service at 1-866-692-9374. 3. If BoA says they haven't received instructions to issue your card, you'll need to contact EDD directly. 4. Keep trying the EDD phone lines. Use the trick of entering your info wrong once, then correct on the second try. Sometimes this bypasses the 'too busy' message. 5. If all else fails, reach out to your local assembly member's office. They can often help push things through. Hope this helps! Hang in there, OP.

Wow, thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely try calling BoA tomorrow. Didn't even think of that. You're a lifesaver! 🙏

That assembly member tip is gold. They helped me sort out a mess with my claim last year. Definitely worth a shot if nothing else works.

am i the only 1 who thinks its crazy we have to jump through all these hoops just to get our own money? the whole system needs an overhaul smh

Have you checked if you can access your funds online? Sometimes you can set up direct deposit or transfer to your own bank account before the card arrives. Might be worth looking into!

I tried that, but it keeps saying I need to activate my card first. It's like a catch-22 situation. 😩

Oof, that's rough. Sounds like you're stuck waiting for that card then. Hang in there!

This happened to me too! Turns out my card was lost in the mail. I had to request a replacement, which took another 7-10 business days. But at least I finally got it. Maybe give that a shot if it's been a while?

0 coins

Oh no, I hope that's not what happened to mine. Did you have to pay for the replacement card?

0 coins

Nah, they sent it for free. Just had to wait... again. 🙄 But better than never getting it!

idk if this helps, but I saw on twitter that some people were having luck reaching out to EDD through their social media accounts. Might be worth a try? 🤷‍♂️

Ugh, I remember going through this last year. It's so stressful when you're counting on that money. Sending good vibes your way, OP. Hope you get it sorted soon! 💕

Thank you! It really helps to know I'm not alone in this. Appreciate the support! ❤️

Hey Ethan! I went through this exact same nightmare about 6 months ago. Here's what finally worked for me: Call Bank of America's EDD card line (1-866-692-9374) first thing in the morning and ask them to check if your card was even issued. In my case, there was some glitch where EDD approved my claim but never actually sent the card request to BoA. Once I found that out, I was able to get EDD to resubmit the request. Also, make sure to have your SSN and claim confirmation number ready when you call. It's frustrating but you'll get through this! Keep us posted on how it goes.

Thanks Sean! This is super helpful. I never thought to check if the card was actually issued in the first place. That glitch you mentioned sounds like it could definitely be what's happening to me. I'll call BoA first thing tomorrow morning with all my info ready. Really appreciate you sharing your experience - gives me hope that there's actually a solution! 🙏

This is exactly what I needed to hear! I've been calling EDD for weeks with no luck, but I never thought to check with BoA directly to see if the card was even issued. That glitch you mentioned could totally be what's happening here. I'm definitely calling them first thing tomorrow morning. Thanks so much for taking the time to share your experience - it gives me real hope that I can actually get this resolved! 🙏

I'm dealing with this exact same issue right now! My claim was approved 3 weeks ago but still no card. It's so stressful when bills are due and you can't access your own benefits. Reading through all these comments is actually really helpful - I had no idea about calling BoA directly or that there could be glitches where the card request never gets sent. Definitely going to try calling them tomorrow morning with my SSN and claim info ready. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences, it's reassuring to know we're not alone in this mess! 🤞

Hey Mason, I'm so sorry you're going through this too! It really is incredibly stressful when you're counting on those funds. I'm also dealing with the same situation - approved claim but no card after weeks of waiting. The advice about calling BoA directly at 1-866-692-9374 to check if the card was actually issued seems like the best lead we've gotten so far. I'm planning to call them tomorrow morning too with all my documentation ready. Maybe we can update each other on how it goes? It's oddly comforting to know there are others in the exact same boat, even though I wouldn't wish this stress on anyone! Fingers crossed we both get some answers soon 🤞

I'm going through the exact same thing right now! My claim was approved almost 3 weeks ago but still no Money Network card. It's absolutely maddening when you're approved for benefits but can't actually access them. Reading through all these comments has been so helpful though - I had no idea about calling Bank of America directly to check if the card was even issued! That glitch Sean mentioned where EDD approves the claim but never sends the card request to BoA could totally be what's happening. I'm definitely calling BoA at 1-866-692-9374 first thing tomorrow morning with my SSN and claim number ready. It's somewhat reassuring to know so many others have dealt with this (though I wouldn't wish it on anyone). Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences and tips - gives me hope there's actually a way to resolve this nightmare! 🙏
