EDD benefit payment missing, no pending deposits showing - 5th time dealing with this. Help!
My benefit payment didn't arrive on schedule and I'm freaking out. I called the 1-800 number and they said there were no pending deposits on my account. I've got a family to support and this is like the 4th or 5th time I've had to deal with this. Anyone else in the same boat or know what might be causing this? I'm worried it could be a system error or maybe the last agent didn't update something correctly. How can I make sure this doesn't happen again in two weeks?

Ugh, I feel your pain. The system is so broken, it's ridiculous. I've had similar issues and it's always a nightmare to get it sorted. Have you tried asking them specifically about system errors or missed updates? Sometimes they don't check unless you ask.

Thanks for the tip. I'll definitely ask about that when I finally get through to someone. It's just so frustrating having to be the one to catch their mistakes, you know?

I've been through this exact situation before. Here's what I learned: ā¢ Always keep a record of your calls and who you spoke to ā¢ Ask for a supervisor if the first agent can't help ā¢ Request a detailed explanation of what caused the delay ā¢ Get them to put notes on your account about the issue ā¢ Ask about any system updates or maintenance that might have affected payments ā¢ Inquire about any changes in your claim status ā¢ See if there's a way to set up alerts for future payments Hope this helps! Hang in there, it's a tough situation but you'll get through it.

Have you tried reaching out to your local representative? Sometimes they can help push things along when the regular channels aren't working.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone without waiting for hours. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

Yeah, it's totally legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

How long did it take for them to call you back?

It took about 45 minutes for me, but I've heard it can vary depending on how busy the lines are. Still way faster than trying to get through on your own.

This happened to me last month. Turns out there was a glitch in their system that affected a bunch of accounts. Keep calling and don't let them brush you off. It's your money and you deserve answers!

A glitch? That's exactly what I was worried about. Did they fix it quickly for you once they realized the problem?

It took about a week of back and forth, but they eventually sorted it out. Just stay persistent!

Bruh, this system is more broken than my ex's promises š But for real, document EVERYTHING. Every call, every person you talk to, every date. It'll save your butt if things get messy.

Have you considered filing a formal complaint? Sometimes that can light a fire under them to get things moving.

I hadn't thought of that. Do you know where I would file a complaint?

You can usually file on the agency's website or through your state's labor department. Just google '[your state] unemployment complaint' and it should come up.

This is why we need serious reform in the unemployment system. It's failing the people who need it most. Anyone know if there are any advocacy groups working on this?

Preach! š The whole system needs an overhaul. It's like they're stuck in the 90s or something.
