EDD SDI payment issued today - how long until it shows on BofA card?
Just saw that my SDI payment for the week of January 7-13 was issued today (showing as 'paid' on my claim status). Can anyone tell me how long it typically takes to actually show up on my Bank of America EDD debit card? Is it usually same day, or does it take 1-2 business days? This is my first disability payment and I have some urgent bills due tomorrow. Thanks!

It depends on when exactly it was processed. In my experience, payments processed before 3pm usually hit my card the same day by evening. If it was processed later in the day, you'll probably see it tomorrow morning. You can check your BofA account online to see if it's pending.

•Thanks! It's showing 'paid' on the EDD website but nothing is showing in my BofA account yet, not even as pending. The payment status changed around noon today. Fingers crossed it shows up tonight!

Mine always takes exactly one business day from when the status changes to 'paid' on the EDD portal. So if it was processed today, you should expect it tomorrow. EDD funds usually post to the card in the morning around 8-9am in my experience.

SAME THING happened to me last month!!! My payment said "issued" but took THREE DAYS to hit my card!!! I was FURIOUS because I had rent due. EDD is SO BROKEN. I swear they do this on purpose to make us suffer. If a regular employer pulled this crap they'd be breaking labor laws!!!

•The delay between payment processing and deposit is actually handled by Bank of America as the financial institution, not directly by EDD. The standard timeline is 24-48 hours, but it can sometimes be faster depending on processing times. It's frustrating, but it's a banking process rather than an EDD decision.

If you need to confirm the payment status with an actual person at EDD (which I had to do when mine was delayed), I recommend using Claimyr.com to get through to a representative quickly. They've got a system that makes it way easier than trying to call yourself - I spent 3 days trying before using them. Check out their demo: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ?si=1hcSq3KFtCr4oAmd. It's worth it when you're waiting on money you desperately need.

•Thank you! If it doesn't show up by tomorrow afternoon I'll definitely check this out. I've tried calling EDD three times already today and couldn't get through at all.

Wait are you getting your first disability payment and it only took from 1/7 to now? How did you get processed so fast?? I filed on 12/10 and I'm still waiting for my first payment! Did you do something special?

•No, sorry if I wasn't clear! I filed my claim in early December. This is just the payment for the specific week of January 7-13 that was finally processed today. My claim took about 3 weeks to get approved initially.

Just wanted to follow up - did your payment show up yet? Most of my SDI payments hit my card the next morning after showing as paid.

•Yes! It just appeared on my card about an hour ago (around 8:30am). Looks like they do the deposit batches early morning. Thanks everyone for the help!

hey just so u know for next time... if u ever need money RIGHT away u can withdraw cash from any bofa atm with the edd card as soon as it shows paid on the website even if the app doesnt show it yet... ive done this lots of times

•This is NOT true! I tried this and the ATM said insufficient funds! Don't spread misinformation that could get people in trouble with overdraft fees!

•@Kara Yoshida I think it might depend on your specific situation or timing. I ve'heard mixed experiences from people - some say it works if the funds are actually available even before showing in the app, others have had issues like @Philip Cowan mentioned. Probably safer to wait for it to show up in the BofA account first to avoid any potential problems!
