EDD Payment Issues: Need Help Getting a Refund ASAP!

Hey everyone, I'm having some issues with EDD payments and I need to get a refund. Has anyone else dealt with this? I've been trying to get through to them for days but no luck. Any advice on how to handle payment problems or get a refund from EDD would be really appreciated!

Ugh, EDD payment issues are the worst! I've been there too. Have you tried calling early in the morning? Sometimes that works better.

Early morning calls are hit or miss. I've had better luck calling right before they close. Less people trying to get through then.

Calling at any time is a nightmare tbh. I spent HOURS on hold last month 😫

Thanks for the suggestions! I'll give both a try and see if I can finally get through.

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

20 bucks? Idk man, seems kinda sketchy...

I get the skepticism, but it seriously worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

Can you give more details about how it works? Like, do you have to give them your personal info?

0 coins

Nah, you just put in your phone number and they call you when they get an agent. No sketchy stuff involved.

Have you tried reaching out to your local assemblymember? They can sometimes help push things through with EDD.

Here's what you need to do to get a refund from EDD: 1. Document everything. Keep a record of all payments, dates, and any communication with EDD. 2. Call the EDD customer service line (good luck getting through) 3. If you can't reach them by phone, send a written request for a refund. Include your name, SSN, and reason for the refund. 4. Be patient. It can take weeks or even months to process. 5. If all else fails, file a complaint with the state ombudsman. Remember, persistence is key. Don't give up!

This is solid advice. I'd add: make sure to keep copies of EVERYTHING you send them. EDD has a habit of 'losing' paperwork.

Thank you so much for this detailed breakdown! I'll definitely follow these steps.

Anyone else feel like the whole EDD system is designed to make us give up? It's a freaking labyrinth of bureaucracy 😤

Fr fr. I swear they make it complicated on purpose so people just give up

Hey OP, what exactly happened with your payment? Was it an overpayment or did they take out too much?

0 coins

They took out too much. I got a partial payment when I should've received the full amount.

Oof, that's rough. Definitely push for that refund, you're entitled to it!

Pro tip: if you're gonna call EDD, make sure your phone is fully charged and you have snacks nearby. You're in for a loooong wait 🤡

Have you checked your UI Online account? Sometimes they post messages there about payment issues that don't show up anywhere else.

Good idea, I'll take a look. Thanks!
