Need help getting EDD SDI refund - charged incorrectly, can't reach anyone!

Hey everyone, I'm having some issues with my EDD payment and I need to get a refund. Has anyone else dealt with this before? I'm not sure what to do next and could use some advice.

Ugh, dealing with EDD payments is such a headache! I've been there before. What exactly happened with your payment? Did you get charged twice or something?

Thanks for asking. I actually got charged for SDI when I shouldn't have been. Now I'm trying to figure out how to get that money back.

Oh man, that sucks! 😫 Have you tried calling them directly? Sometimes that's the fastest way to get things sorted out.

I've been trying, but it's impossible to get through. I've been on hold for hours and keep getting disconnected. 😤

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

I was skeptical at first too, but I can confirm it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration!

How long did it take for them to call you back?

It took about 2 hours for me, but it was way better than being stuck on hold myself. I just went about my day and waited for the call.

Have you tried submitting a request for refund online? Sometimes that can be faster than calling. Check out the EDD website, they should have a form for overpayments or incorrect charges.

Harsh but true 😂 I've been waiting on a refund for 3 months now. It's like they're allergic to giving money back.

Here's what you need to do to get your refund: 1. Document everything. Write down the date you were charged, the amount, and why it was incorrect. 2. Go to the EDD website and look for the 'Contact Us' section. 3. Fill out their online form explaining the situation. Be clear and concise. 4. If you don't hear back within 10 business days, try calling them. 5. If calling doesn't work, consider using a service like the one mentioned above to get through. 6. As a last resort, contact your local state representative. They can sometimes intervene on your behalf. Remember, persistence is key. Don't give up! 💪

This is solid advice. I'd add one thing: keep a record of all your communication attempts with EDD. It might come in handy if things escalate.
