EDD Disability payments stopped unexpectedly - No recertification received. Help!
My disability payments suddenly stopped and I haven't received my recertification. I was supposed to be on disability until December 2024, but my last payment was in November. Has anyone else experienced this? What should I do?

Ugh, I'm in the same boat. EDD is such a mess rn. Have you tried calling them? It's a nightmare getting through, but it might be your best bet to figure out what's going on.

•I've been trying to call for days but can't get through. It's so frustrating! 😤

•Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 mins on hold last week.

I found a way to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

•Yeah, it's legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

•How long did it take for them to call you back?

•It took about 2 hours for me, but I've heard it can vary. Still way better than trying to call yourself all day!

Here's what you need to do: 1. Check your mail carefully. Sometimes they send important notices that look like junk mail. 2. Log into your EDD account online and check for any messages or updates. 3. If you can't find any info, you NEED to speak with a rep. Use the calling tip mentioned above or keep trying the regular number. 4. Be prepared with your claim number and all relevant dates when you do get through. 5. Ask about your recertification status and why payments stopped. 6. Request a retroactive payment for any weeks you've missed. 7. Make sure they have your current contact info. Don't give up! The system is broken, but persistence pays off. Good luck!

This happened to me last year. Turns out they 'lost' my recertification form. I had to resubmit everything. Such a headache. Hope you get it sorted soon!

•Oh no, that sounds awful. How long did it take to get resolved once you resubmitted?

•It took about 3 weeks. Not great, but could've been worse. Just stay on top of it and don't be afraid to follow up!

Anyone else notice that these issues always seem to happen around the holidays? It's like they're trying to make our lives extra stressful. Hang in there, OP!

I work in healthcare and we've been seeing a lot of patients with similar issues lately. There might be a systemic problem with EDD's recertification process. Definitely keep pushing for answers!

•Thats intresting. do you think its related to the new system they implemented last month?

•It's possible. New systems often have bugs. But I can't say for sure. Either way, it's causing a lot of stress for people who rely on these benefits.
