EDD disability payments suddenly stopped - no notices or alerts. What to do?

Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle here. My disability payments suddenly stopped on December 1st without any warning. I've been getting them regularly until now, and there's no alerts or notices on my account. I'm approved for benefits until next year, so I'm really confused. Has anyone else experienced this? What should I do to get my payments flowing again?

Ugh, that sucks! 😫 The EDD can be such a pain sometimes. Have you tried calling them? It might be a glitch in their system or something.

I've been trying to call all day but can't get through. It's so frustrating!

Pro tip: call right when they open. You might have better luck getting through.

Calling is useless, I've been trying for weeks. Its like they dont even want to help us 🙄

This happened to me last year. Turns out I missed submitting a form they sent me. Check your mail carefully, sometimes they send important stuff that looks like junk mail.

Thanks, I'll double-check my mail. But I haven't received anything recently that I can remember.

Classic EDD move. They probably sent it to the wrong address or something 🤦‍♂️

Hey, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds sketchy. Is this legit?

Yeah, it's totally legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

20 bucks to talk to someone? That's highway robbery! 😤

I get it, but think about how much time you waste trying to get through. For me, it was worth it to finally get answers.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Check your online account for any pending forms or certifications. 2. Review all recent mail from EDD, including stuff that looks like junk. 3. Try to contact them through their online messaging system. 4. If all else fails, you might need to bite the bullet and wait on hold or use a service to get through. 5. When you do talk to someone, ask for a supervisor if the first person can't help. 6. Request a written explanation for why your payments stopped. 7. If it's their error, ask about retroactive payments. Don't give up! The system is frustrating, but persistence usually pays off. Good luck!

I'm in the same boat, payments stopped last week. This whole system is broken. We need to organize and demand better treatment! Who's with me? ✊

Count me in! We should start a petition or something.

Lol good luck with that. EDD doesn't care about us little people 🤡

Quick question - did you recently start any part-time work or have any change in your medical condition? Sometimes that can trigger a review of your case.

0 coins

Nope, nothing's changed on my end. That's why I'm so confused about this sudden stop in payments.

Ugh, the EDD strikes again! 🙄 I swear they do this on purpose to save money. Hang in there, OP. You're not alone in this mess.

I went through something similar a few months ago! My payments just stopped out of nowhere too. Turns out there was a "routine review" they triggered on my account that I never got notified about. I'd suggest logging into your EDD account and looking under the "Inbox" or "Notifications" section - sometimes important messages get buried there. Also check if your certification status changed to "pending" instead of "paid." If you can't find anything obvious, definitely try the online contact form first before calling. It took them about 2 weeks to respond to mine, but at least you'll have a paper trail. Hope this helps! 🤞
