EDD Disability claim stuck - online system says I need to talk to an agent. Help!

Ugh, welcome to the club. 🙄 I've been trying to get through to EDD for weeks now. It's like they don't want us to actually get our benefits.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Here's what worked for me: 1. Call right when they open at 8 AM 2. Choose the Spanish option (even if you don't speak Spanish) 3. When you get an agent, politely ask if they speak English. If not, they'll usually transfer you to an English-speaking agent 4. Be super nice to the agent, they deal with angry people all day 5. Have all your info ready before you call Hope this helps! If it tells you to call, you really do need to call. - Best times to call are Tuesday-Thursday, mid-morning or mid-afternoon. - If you get a "we're too busy" message, hang up and try again. Don't stay on hold for hours. - Make sure you have a clear, specific question. We can help better if you're precise. - Be patient with us. We're understaffed and overworked, but we're trying our best. Hang in there, OP. I know it's frustrating, but we'll get you sorted out.

Has anyone tried reaching out to their local state representative? I've heard they can sometimes help push things through with EDD.

Pro tip: if you cant get thru on the phone, try their social media. I DMed them on Twitter and got a response in like 2 days. Worth a shot! 🤷‍♂️

OP, make sure you double-check all your paperwork before you talk to them. I thought I had everything in order, but turns out I was missing a form and had to start the whole process over. Don't be like me! 😭
