EDD Call Dropped Due to Poor Signal - Tips to Prevent?

Has anyone else had their call dropped due to poor signal? I was on hold forever and when I finally got through, my call dropped because of bad reception. So frustrating! Any tips on how to prevent this from happening again?

I found a way to solve dropped calls during long holds, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qP2P9JnSOUQ

Ugh, that sucks! I've been there before. Have you tried using a landline? They're usually more reliable for important calls like this.

Landlines are indeed the gold standard for call quality. If you don't have one at home, maybe at a friend's place or a community center?

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video for more info: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Does it really work?

$20?! That's highway robbery! 😑

It really does work! I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

How long did it take for them to call you back?

I think it's a good investment if you are constantly on hold and wasting valuable time, but I understand the hesitation due to the cost.

Have you tried calling early in the morning? I've had better luck getting through and maintaining a connection right when they open.

What time do they open? Might have to set an alarm lol

I think it's 8am, but double check on their website. Early bird gets the worm! 🐦

I've heard that calling right before closing can also work sometimes, though morning is generally better.

Seriously tho, it's 2023. How is this still an issue? You'd think they'd have a better system by now. SMH

Agreed, it's baffling how little progress has been made in such a critical area.

This is why the system is so messed up! 🀬 We shouldn't have to jump through hoops just to get basic help. Time for a complete overhaul if you ask me.

Preach! πŸ™Œ It's like they're trying to make it as difficult as possible

Totally agree. I've been dealing with this nonsense for months now. It's exhausting.

While it's frustrating, it's important to find practical solutions while advocating for better systems.

Have you tried sacrificing a goat to the EDD gods? Might improve your chances πŸ˜‚

Instructions unclear, now I have a pet goat and still no benefits 🐐

It's sad but true that it seems like we need divine intervention to get through the system!

Pro tip: use a phone signal booster if you're in an area with weak reception. They can be a bit pricey, but totally worth it if you're always dealing with dropped calls.

Definitely second this. I got a booster for my home office, and it's been game changing!

Have you tried using WiFi calling? It can be more stable than cellular sometimes. Just make sure your WiFi connection is solid.

WiFi calling is hit or miss for me. Sometimes it works great, other times its worse than cellular. YMMV

Good suggestion! I always forget about WiFi calling. Gonna try this next time I'm stuck on hold for hours 😩

WiFi calling can be lifesaving, especially if you're in an area with weak cell signal but strong internet.

I feel your pain! 😭 I always make sure I'm in a spot with full bars before making these calls. Maybe try going outside or near a window?

Going outside is a good idea, but be careful about background noise. I once had a car alarm go off during my call and the agent couldn't hear me at all!

Thanks for the tip! I'll def try that next time. Fingers crossed 🀞

Also, try not to move around too much while on the call. Even a small change in position can affect reception.

Here's a comprehensive guide to improving your chances of a successful call: 1. Check your signal strength beforehand. If it's weak, move to a better location. 2. Use a landline if possible. They're generally more reliable than cell phones. 3. If using a cell phone, try WiFi calling. Make sure your WiFi connection is stable. 4. Call during off-peak hours. Early morning or late afternoon tend to be less busy. 5. Use a headset or earbuds with a built-in microphone for better audio quality. 6. Have all your information ready before the call to minimize time on the line. 7. If you keep having issues, consider investing in a signal booster for your home. 8. As a last resort, there are paid services that will wait on hold for you. Remember, patience is key. The system is overwhelmed, so be prepared for long wait times. Good luck!

lmao welcome to the club 🀑 I've had more dropped calls than I can count. It's like playing phone tag with the void
