EDD call transferred then dropped - now what? Tips for reaching a human?

So I was on the phone with them and they transferred me, but then the call dropped. Now I'm back at square one and have to call again. Anyone else deal with this? It's so frustrating to wait on hold forever only to get disconnected. What number are they even calling from? I'm worried I might miss it if they try to call back.

Ugh, been there done that. It's like they're playing phone tag with us, but we're the only ones actually trying to connect. πŸ™„ I've had calls drop so many times, I've lost count. It's ridiculous how broken their system is.

For real tho! It's like they don't want us to actually talk to anyone. I swear they do it on purpose sometimes 😀

Same boat here. I've started keeping a log of all my attempts. Might be useful if we ever need to prove how many times we've tried to reach them.

Pro tip: I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

20 bucks? Idk man, seems kinda steep just to talk to someone...

I get the skepticism, but honestly, after wasting hours on hold and missing work, $20 was worth it for me. Saved me so much time and stress.

How does it actually work tho? Like, do they give you a specific time to be ready for the call?

Yeah, they send you updates on the progress. When an agent picks up, you get a call from their number. Just make sure you answer it!

I feel your pain, OP. The system is a joke. I've had calls dropped, been given wrong information, and spent hours on hold. It's like they're trying to make it as difficult as possible for us to get help.

Here's what I've learned after dealing with this for months: 1. Always note the name of who you talk to 2. Ask for a reference number for your call 3. If they say they'll call back, ask for a specific timeframe 4. Keep detailed notes of every interaction 5. Be persistent - sometimes you have to call multiple times 6. Try calling right when they open or just before closing 7. If all else fails, contact your local representative Hope this helps someone out there. Stay strong, we're all in this together!

Contacting your rep is underrated advice. My state senator's office actually helped me resolve an issue after months of getting nowhere.

Has anyone tried using their online portal instead of calling? I've had some success with that, although it's still not perfect.

I tried but kept getting error messages. Seems like their website is as reliable as their phone system πŸ™„

The online portal worked for me once, but then it locked me out and I had to call anyway. It's hit or miss.

Guys, I think I figured out there secret. If you press 2, then 1, then 4, then wait 30 seconds and press # twice, you get through to a different department that can actually help. Worked for me last week!

I tried something similar and it just sent me back to the main menu. These 'shortcuts' never work for me 😞

Anyone else feel like they're trapped in a Kafka novel trying to deal with this system? It's absurd how difficult they make it to get basic help.

Have you tried reaching out on social media? Sometimes tweeting at them or messaging on Facebook can get a response. Worth a shot if you're desperate.

I second this. Got a DM from them on Twitter and they actually helped resolve my issue. Squeaky wheel gets the grease and all that.
