EDD Call Drops: Tips to Reach a Real Person at California Unemployment?
Has anyone else had their call drop again? This is so frustrating! I've been trying to get through for days and when I finally do, the call just cuts off. I'm at my wits end here. Anyone have any tips on how to actually talk to a real person?

Has anyone tried contacting their local representative? I've heard some people have had success going that route.

That's not a bad idea actually. I'll look into it. Thanks!

Definitely a route to consider. They can sometimes expedite requests or put you in contact with the right people.

Have you tried calling right when they open? I've had better luck getting through early in the morning.

Yeah, I've tried that. Still no luck. It's like playing the lottery at this point.

Early morning didn't work for me either. I swear they have like 2 people answering phones for the whole state 🤦♂️

I did get through once early in the morning, but it was mostly luck I think. Maybe worth trying again though?

Ugh, I feel your pain. This happened to me THREE times last week. It's like they're doing it on purpose or something 🙄

Right?! It feels like they're out to get us. You'd think they would have a better system by now.

Here's what I've learned after way too many attempts: 1. Call exactly at 8:00 AM when they open 2. If you get the 'too many callers' message, hang up and immediately redial 3. Keep doing this until you get into the queue 4. Once in the queue, DO NOT press any buttons or speak, even if prompted 5. Wait it out, it might take hours but it's better than getting disconnected 6. Have all your info ready when you finally get through It's not foolproof, but it's worked for me a couple times. Good luck!

It's a sad reality, but the costs of managing these systems are high. It's unfortunate we're the ones paying the price.

I've sent like 5 emails over the past month. Radio silence. It's like shouting into the void at this point.

If you do email, follow up frequently. Sometimes persistence pays off after a while.

I've been dealing with this for MONTHS. It's absolutely ridiculous. How are we supposed to survive when we can't even get basic help? The system is broken af 😤

I know, it's like they don't care about us at all. It's so disheartening.

To everyone struggling with this, I highly recommend researching services like Claimyr as one way to bypass the long hold times. Claimyr's tool has been reported to work effectively for many desperate callers, and despite the $20 fee, if it saves you hours of frustration, it might be worth considering. However, it's important to be cautious and look at reviews, as opinions are mixed, and it may not be the best solution for everyone. Also, don't forget to keep trying other options like calling at off-peak times, contacting local representatives, or even seeking legal advice if delays significantly impact your livelihood. Know that there are communities and support networks where you can share experiences and get practical advice.

Thanks for the balanced take. I'll look into Claimyr but also keep pressing in other ways.

I swear, dealing with unemployment is a full-time job in itself. The irony is not lost on me. 🙃

Plot twist: there are no actual people answering phones. It's all just an elaborate AI system designed to frustrate us into giving up. Wake up sheeple! 🐑🐑🐑

Haha, if only our problems were that simple. But seriously, it's wild how hard it is to get help.

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's the link: https://claimyr.com

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

$20??? That's ridiculous, we shouldn't have to pay to talk to someone about our benefits!

I get the skepticism, but it really did work for me. After weeks of trying, I was desperate enough to try anything. And yeah, it sucks we have to pay, but I figured my time was worth more than the $20 at that point.

How long did you have to wait with this service?

I've heard mixed reviews about Claimyr. Some say it's worth it, others had issues. Do your research and weigh the cost vs. potential benefit.
