EDD Account Hacked: Unauthorized Activity Continues After Password Change - What Now?
Hey everyone, I need some advice. I recently got an email about changes being made to my unemployment account. I immediately updated my personal information, including my email and password. I received confirmation that these changes were made, but I'm still seeing unauthorized activities on my account. Has anyone else dealt with this? What should I do next?

I found a way to solve unauthorized EDD account activity, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NktD0v1A9ZU

Ugh, that sucks! I've been there. Here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything. Save those emails, take screenshots of any weird activity. 2. Call EDD ASAP. Like, yesterday. Tell them exactly what happened. 3. Ask them to verify all your current info, especially your direct deposit stuff. 4. Consider freezing your credit if you haven't already. 5. Change passwords on ANY accounts that might've used the same one as your EDD account. Stay on top of this! The longer you wait, the harder it gets to fix. Good luck!

•This is solid advice. I'd add: keep a log of every call you make, who you talk to, and what they say. It'll help if you need to escalate later.

•Freezing credit is smart. I didn't think of that when it happened to me and regretted it later. 😩

•Thanks so much for this! I'll definitely follow these steps. Any idea how long it usually takes to get this sorted out?

•It can vary, but in my experience, it took about 2-3 weeks to fully resolve. Stay persistent!

•Idk maybe if they spent less time making the system more "efficient" and more time on actually helping people, we wouldn't have these issues 🤷♂️

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Does it really work?

•Yeah, it does! I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of hold time. Worth every penny imo.

•$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken 😤

•I get it, but think about how much your time is worth. For me, not sitting on hold for 3+ hours was totally worth it.

Have you checked your credit report? Sometimes these scammers don't stop at just your EDD account. Better safe than sorry!

•2 months?! 😱 That's insane. Did you have to do anything special to finally get it resolved?

•Honestly, just being a pain in their a**. Called every other day, sent emails, the works. Eventually got to a supervisor who fixed it.

PSA: Always use a unique password for your EDD account! Don't reuse passwords from other sites. A password manager can help with this.

Is anyone else lowkey impressed by how quick these scammers are? Like, I can barely figure out how to update my own info sometimes 😂

Same thing happened to me last month! Even after changing everything, they were still getting in somehow. Turns out they had set up email forwarding rules in my account so they could see all my EDD correspondence. Make sure to check your email settings and look for any forwarding rules you didn't create. Also, enable two-factor authentication if EDD offers it. The whole process was a nightmare but I eventually got it sorted out. Don't give up!

•Wow, I never thought to check email forwarding rules! That's really sneaky. Thanks for sharing this - I bet a lot of people wouldn't think to look for that. Did you find the forwarding rules in your regular email account or was it something they set up through EDD's system?
