Update: I was able to access my 1099-G through the website that @helpfultaxpro mentioned! It's different from the SDI Online portal, but once I created an account, I could see my tax form was already available. Thanks everyone for your help!
That's awesome that you found it online! For anyone else reading this thread, I just want to add that even though Oliver found his form, it's still worth double-checking the taxability issue that Kevin mentioned earlier. I made the mistake of assuming my SDI benefits were taxable when they actually weren't since I paid the premiums myself. Ended up having to file an amended return. If you paid SDI through payroll deductions (which most CA employees do), your benefits are likely not taxable income, but you should still report receiving the 1099-G. Definitely worth consulting a tax pro if you're unsure!
This is really helpful advice! I'm new here and currently waiting for my disability approval, but it's good to know about the taxability issue ahead of time. So just to clarify - if I check my old pay stubs and see SDI deductions coming out of my paycheck, that means I paid with after-tax dollars and the benefits wouldn't be taxable? I want to make sure I understand this correctly for when I eventually need to deal with taxes.
Hey Omar! Welcome to the community! I can see you've gotten some incredible advice here already, and I just wanted to add my voice to the chorus of support. Based on everything you've described - your weekly benefit amount showing up, empty pending applications, and that "Claim Established" status - you are absolutely approved! I went through a very similar situation after my carpal tunnel surgery about 6 months ago, and I had the exact same indicators when my claim was processed. The anxiety while waiting for that first payment is totally understandable, especially when you're dealing with recovery and mounting bills. One thing that really helped me was calling my bank to confirm they had my correct information on file for ACH deposits from the state. Sometimes there can be small discrepancies that cause delays, and it's worth double-checking to avoid any unnecessary anxiety. Your persistence in getting that medical certification submitted was absolutely the right move - don't feel bad about having to advocate for yourself! Unfortunately, some medical offices really don't prioritize these forms like they should, and patients end up having to push to get things done on time. Based on my experience and what others have shared, you should see that payment (including all the backpay) within the next 5-7 business days. Try to focus on your recovery and trust that the financial stress is about to be resolved. This community is here if you need any other support along the way! 💙
Thank you so much Zoe! The tip about calling the bank to confirm ACH information is really smart - I hadn't thought of that but it makes total sense to double-check for any small discrepancies that could cause delays. I'm going to call them first thing tomorrow morning just to make sure everything is set up correctly on their end. It's really reassuring to hear from someone who went through carpal tunnel surgery and the same SDI process. The recovery from any surgery while dealing with financial uncertainty is just so stressful - it's comforting to know others have navigated this successfully. This community has honestly been a game-changer for me today. I went from complete panic this morning to feeling genuinely informed and hopeful about my situation. The consistent timeline of 5-7 business days from multiple people gives me realistic expectations to work with instead of just endless uncertainty. I'm definitely going to try to focus on healing over the next week and trust that this financial stress is finally going to be resolved. After all the support and encouragement from everyone here, I feel like I can actually breathe again. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and add to all the helpful advice - this community truly is amazing! 💙
Hey Omar! Welcome to our community! I can see you've received some absolutely wonderful advice and support here already - this group really is incredible when it comes to helping each other navigate the SDI system. Based on everything you've described (your weekly benefit amount showing up, empty pending applications section, and that "Claim Established" status), you are definitely approved! I went through something very similar after my wrist surgery last year, and those exact same signs meant my claim was fully processed and ready for payment. I totally understand the anxiety of waiting for that first payment, especially when you're recovering from surgery and dealing with bills piling up. The combination of physical recovery and financial stress is just overwhelming, but it sounds like you're really at the finish line now. One thing I learned during my own SDI experience that I don't think has been mentioned yet - if you're using mobile banking, sometimes larger ACH deposits (like your $3,750 lump sum) can trigger security holds that delay the funds being available even after they technically "hit" your account. It might be worth calling your bank to let them know you're expecting a large state disability payment so they can note your account and prevent any unnecessary holds. Your determination in getting that medical certification submitted (even having to go to the office in person!) shows you're a great advocate for yourself. That persistence is exactly what got your claim approved when it could have been delayed for weeks longer. Hang in there - based on everyone's experiences here, you should see that payment very soon. Focus on healing and try not to stress too much about the timing. We're all rooting for you! 🙏
I'm currently going through my first SDI claim too and this thread has been SO helpful! I submitted my certification 4 days ago and have been checking my account obsessively (oops 😅). It's really reassuring to see that most people get their first payment within that 7-10 day window. One question for everyone - I noticed my claim status still shows "pending" but I can see my certification went through successfully. Is that normal, or should I be seeing some kind of status change by now? I'm trying to figure out if "pending" just means they're processing it or if there might be an issue I need to follow up on. Thanks to everyone who's shared their experiences here - it really helps to know what to expect when you're navigating this for the first time! 🤞
Hey Ryan! I'm actually in the exact same boat as you - new to SDI and anxiously waiting for that first payment! From what I've been reading in all these responses, it sounds like "pending" is totally normal at this stage. Most people seem to say it stays pending until the payment actually gets processed and issued. I think as long as your certification shows as submitted successfully, you're probably good to go! I'm on day 2 after certifying and also checking way too often 😂 Let's both try to be patient and give it that full week before we start worrying. Keep me posted on when yours comes through - it would be cool to compare timelines since we're going through this at the same time!
Just want to share my recent experience to add another data point! I certified for my first SDI payment about 10 days ago after a minor surgery, and my payment hit my bank account yesterday morning (so 9 business days total). The status in my SDI Online account changed from "pending" to "paid" about 2 days before the money actually showed up in my checking account. One thing that really helped manage my anxiety during the wait was setting up account alerts with my bank so I'd get a text notification as soon as any deposit came through - that way I wasn't constantly logging into both my bank account AND the EDD portal multiple times a day! For budgeting purposes, I'd definitely plan for the longer end of the timeline (10-14 days) just to be safe, especially since this is your first claim. The uncertainty is definitely the hardest part, but it sounds like your paperwork went through smoothly so you should be all set. Wishing you a speedy recovery! ✨
Thanks for sharing your timeline Sean! That's really helpful to know about the 2-day gap between the status changing to "paid" and the money actually hitting your account. I love the idea about setting up bank alerts too - that's so much smarter than obsessively checking both portals! I'm definitely going to do that. It sounds like planning for 10-14 days is the smart move for budgeting. Really appreciate everyone in this thread sharing their real experiences - it makes this whole process feel way less scary when you're going through it for the first time! 🙏
I'm dealing with the exact same issue right now! My claim has been stuck in pending for about 3 weeks and it's incredibly stressful not knowing what's happening. Reading through everyone's experiences here is both reassuring (that I'm not alone) and frustrating (that this seems to be the norm). I'm definitely going to try the early morning calling strategy - seems like that's the most consistent advice here. Has anyone had any luck with online chat or is phone really the only way to get through? Also wondering if there's any pattern to which types of claims get processed faster vs slower. Thanks for starting this thread, it's really helpful to see everyone's tips and know we're all in this together! 🤝
Hi Miranda! I'm new here but going through the exact same thing - been waiting 4 weeks now and the stress is unreal! From what I'm reading, phone seems to be the only reliable way to reach someone. I tried the online chat last week and it was basically useless - just gave me generic responses about waiting times. The early morning calling tip seems legit based on everyone's experiences. I'm planning to try calling tomorrow right at 8 AM. Also noticed a few people mentioned keeping detailed records of everything, which seems smart for when you finally do get through. We've got this! 💪
I'm new to this community but unfortunately not new to the SDI pending limbo! Been waiting 6 weeks now and it's honestly driving me crazy. The financial stress combined with not knowing what's happening is just brutal. Thank you all for sharing your experiences and tips - it really helps to know I'm not alone in this. I'm definitely going to try the early morning calling strategy tomorrow, and the state representative idea is genius! Never would have thought of that. Also keeping a log of all contact attempts seems really smart based on what others have shared. One question - has anyone noticed if certain days of the week are better for getting through? Like are Mondays worse because of weekend backlog? Really appreciate this supportive community! 🙏

Hey everyone! Just discovered this thread while desperately googling E324 error solutions and I'm so relieved to find this supportive community! I've been stuck with this error for about a week now and was honestly starting to think there was something wrong with my computer or internet connection. Reading through all these experiences has been both eye-opening and comforting - it's crazy how widespread this issue is! I've tried all the usual suspects during regular hours (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, clearing cache, incognito mode, different devices) but keep hitting the same wall. The success stories here, especially @GalacticGladiator's detailed breakdown, are giving me so much hope though! The pattern with the 2-3 AM timing + Chrome incognito + all extensions disabled seems to be the magic combination that actually works. @Jade O'Malley your comprehensive troubleshooting list is absolutely amazing - I've screenshot it and will be working through each step tonight. And I'm definitely interested in the Department of Consumer Affairs complaint coordination that @NebulaNomad suggested. This systemic issue affects way too many people and deserves official attention. It's honestly insane that we have to become "midnight tech ninjas" (love that term @Dylan Hughes!) just to apply for benefits we're entitled to, but I'm grateful for everyone here sharing their battle strategies and keeping spirits up. Planning my own 2:30 AM mission tonight - fingers crossed I can add to the success stories! Will definitely report back with results. Thank you all for showing that we're not alone in this fight against the broken system! 🙏💪

•Hey @Nathan Dell! Welcome to our E324 warriors community! 👋 I'm also pretty new here but this thread has been absolutely incredible for finding hope and solutions. A week of battling this error is so exhausting - you definitely aren't alone in feeling like something was wrong with your setup! I had the same exact thought before finding this group. The midnight tech ninja approach really does seem to be our best weapon against this broken system! 😅 I'm actually planning to try the same 2:30 AM strategy tonight based on all the success stories - maybe we can be part of the late-night mission crew together! 🌙 It's completely absurd that we've all become "midnight tech ninjas" just to access basic government services, but at least we're figuring it out as a team. Really hoping your mission tonight breaks through - definitely keep us posted on the results! We're all cheering each other on in this fight! 💪✨

Just wanted to share another success story to keep everyone motivated! 🎉 I've been lurking here for the past few days while dealing with my own E324 nightmare, and this community has been absolutely incredible. I finally got through last night using the exact strategy everyone's been talking about - Chrome incognito mode + all extensions disabled + 2:45 AM timing. Like @GalacticGladiator mentioned, it took a few attempts even at that hour, but eventually the account creation page loaded properly and I was able to complete the whole application! The key really seems to be that combination of factors plus the patience to try multiple times if needed. For anyone still struggling, don't give up! The system is definitely broken but these workarounds do work. I also took screenshots of everything like @Jade O'Malley suggested, which was helpful for my records. And I'm definitely planning to file a complaint with the Department of Consumer Affairs like @NebulaNomad suggested - even though I got through, this systemic issue needs attention so future applicants don't have to go through this same frustrating process. Thanks to everyone in this community for the support and detailed advice. You all made the difference between giving up and pushing through! Keep fighting the good fight, midnight warriors! 💪🌙
