Plot twist: EDD actually received your docs, but they're using them as coffee coasters. Seriously though, their backlog is insane rn. Hang tight!
LOL 😂 I wouldn't even be surprised at this point
Hey, former EDD employee here. The verification process can take up to 10 weeks, especially if they're backlogged. My advice: keep checking your UI Online account, and if you haven't heard anything by week 8, start calling or contact your local assemblyperson for help.
I know, it's frustrating. The system wasn't designed to handle this volume. That's why I always recommend reaching out to local reps if it goes too long.
ugh this sucks so much. im in the same boat and its like... do they not understand we have bills to pay?? 😤
Have you tried reaching out on Twitter? Sometimes their social media team is more responsive than phone support. Worth a shot!
This! 👆 I got my issue resolved in like 2 days after tweeting at them. It's wild.
Oof, appeals are the worst. Make sure you respond within the deadline they give you, even if you don't have all the info yet. You can always submit more stuff later, but missing that initial deadline can sink your whole case.
Not to be that guy, but have you considered looking for work that accommodates your disability? I know its not always possible, but sometimes theres options out there we dont know about. Just a thought!
Have you checked your online account? Sometimes the status updates there before you actually get the money.
Yeah, I've been checking it obsessively. Still says 'pending' 😕
Oof, that sucks. Hang in there, OP. It'll come through eventually.
Pro tip: contact your local state representative's office. They can sometimes help expedite claims. Worked for me when I was stuck in limbo for months.
Just google '[your city] state representative'. Should pop right up!

anyone else notice how they always seem to 'lose' the paperwork when it's time to pay out? but they never lose the info when it's time for us to pay them 🙄

Hey OP, how long has it been since you sent in your paperwork? There's usually a processing time of a few weeks.

•It's been about 5 weeks now. I thought that would be plenty of time 😕

•Yikes, yeah that's definitely too long. Def time to start calling and checking your online account for issues.
