Need help extending SDI claim for postpartum issues after PFL - EDD transition advice?
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle here. I've been on disability for childbirth and now I'm dealing with some postpartum issues. I'm wondering if I can extend my current disability claim or if I need to file a new one. Also, I'm currently on Paid Family Leave and I'm not sure how that'll work when I switch back to disability. Anyone been through this before? Any advice would be super helpful!

Quick question - does anyone know if the 12 month period for SDI resets after childbirth? Or does it continue from your last claim?
Pretty sure it continues from your last claim, but don't quote me on that. Best to check with EDD directly.
It depends on your specific situation. If you're going back on SDI for a different condition, it might be treated as a new claim. Definitely something to clarify with them.

Hey everyone, I'm having an issue with my claim status. I sent in my renewal through my doctor a while back, but when I call to check on it, they're telling me the last processed payment was four weeks ago. I'm worried my doctor might not have actually sent the renewal. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on how to confirm if the renewal was actually received?

Have you tried checking your claim status online? Sometimes that can give you more info about payments and refunds.
I did check online, but it doesn't show anything about the refund. Just says my claim is approved.
Hmm, that's frustrating. Might be worth trying to contact them through social media. Sometimes their Twitter support is surprisingly responsive.

Anyone else notice that payments seem to come through faster if you certify right at midnight when the system updates? Might be confirmation bias, but it's worked for me the last few times.
