Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who contributed to this thread! I'm currently dealing with my own SDI issues (payments delayed for over 3 weeks now) and this discussion has been incredibly helpful. The breakdown of the different forms, fax numbers, and extension requirements is exactly the kind of information EDD should be providing upfront but never does. I've already called my doctor's office to verify they used the correct DE2525XX form and got the right fax number - turns out they had been using an outdated number from 2019! Also marking my calendar for proactive extension requests based on everyone's advice here. It's so frustrating that we have to crowdsource this critical information instead of getting clear guidance from EDD, but I'm grateful this community exists. Going to try some of the suggestions mentioned and will update if I learn anything new that might help others!
Oh wow, your doctor's office was using a 2019 fax number? That's exactly the kind of thing that would cause weeks of delays and nobody would tell you! Really glad you caught that after reading this thread. It's crazy how many little details can derail the whole process - outdated fax numbers, wrong form codes, missing extension requests. This community is honestly doing EDD's job better than they are at this point. Definitely keep us updated on how it goes with the corrected information! Hoping you get your payments sorted out much faster than some of us did. The fact that we all have to become experts in their bureaucratic maze just to get benefits we've earned is so messed up, but at least we can help each other navigate it!
Wow, this thread has been absolutely invaluable! I'm dealing with a similar situation right now - been on SDI for carpal tunnel surgery and my payments just stopped after 11 weeks with no explanation. Reading through everyone's experiences, I'm realizing I probably need to submit an extension request since I'm approaching that 12-week mark. The amount of detective work we have to do just to figure out basic requirements is honestly insane. EDD should be required to send out clear notifications about upcoming deadlines and required forms instead of just cutting people off and leaving us to figure it out ourselves. Thank you especially to @Henrietta Beasley for sharing your resolution - knowing that you eventually got through and sorted it out gives me hope! Going to call my doctor's office first thing tomorrow to verify they submitted the right forms to the correct fax number. It's ridiculous that we have to double-check everything like this, but this community has shown me how many things can go wrong behind the scenes. Really grateful for all the specific advice about form codes, extension requirements, and proactive communication strategies!
I'm so sorry you're going through this too! It's really frustrating how many of us are experiencing the exact same issue - payments stopping around the 11-12 week mark with zero communication from EDD. You're definitely on the right track thinking it might be an extension issue. Based on what I've learned from this thread, I'd suggest when you call your doctor's office tomorrow, specifically ask them to confirm: 1) they used the DE2525XX supplementary form (not the initial DE2501), 2) they sent it to the current disability fax number (not an old one), and 3) whether they received any confirmation or response from EDD. Also, if you can get through to EDD at all, specifically ask about filing a "claim duration review" and whether you need the DE2525XX Extension form - using their exact terminology seems to help. This community has been such a lifesaver for figuring out what EDD should have told us from the beginning. Hoping you get it sorted out quickly and don't have to go through weeks of stress like some of us did!
I'm new to this community but unfortunately not new to EDD payment delays! I've been dealing with a similar situation where my SDI payment shows "authorized" but hasn't deposited yet - it's been 3 days now. Reading through everyone's experiences here is both frustrating and oddly comforting to know this is such a common issue. From what I've learned in my own research, it seems like the delay between "authorized" and actual deposit can vary wildly - sometimes it's the bank's processing time, sometimes it's EDD's system, and sometimes there are verification holds we don't even know about. I'm planning to call my bank first tomorrow to check for pending deposits, then brace myself for the EDD phone marathon if needed. Thanks to everyone who's shared their experiences and tips here - it's really helpful to have a roadmap of what to try. Hoping we all get our payments sorted out soon!
Welcome to the community! It's unfortunate that so many of us have to deal with these EDD payment delays, but you're absolutely right that there's some comfort in knowing we're not alone in this struggle. Your plan sounds solid - checking with the bank first is definitely a smart move since they can sometimes see pending deposits before they actually post. And yeah, the EDD phone lines are brutal, but sometimes it's the only way to get real answers. Fingers crossed your payment comes through quickly! Keep us posted on how it goes.
I'm new to this community and dealing with the exact same frustrating situation! My SDI payment has been showing "authorized" for 6 days now with no deposit. I was starting to think I was the only one having this issue, but reading through all these comments has been incredibly helpful and reassuring that this is unfortunately pretty common. Based on what everyone's shared, I'm going to start with checking my bank's online portal for pending deposits, then verify all my banking info is correct in the EDD system. If those don't reveal anything, I'll prepare myself for the dreaded EDD phone call marathon. It's really tough when you're counting on this money for bills and basic necessities. Thank you to everyone who's shared their experiences and advice - it gives me hope that this will get resolved eventually. I'll definitely document everything like some of you suggested. Here's hoping we all get our payments sorted out soon!
Hey OP, just wanted to say hang in there. I know it's tough, but you're not alone in this. We're all in the same boat, trying to navigate these choppy waters. Keep your chin up! 💪
I'm going through something similar right now - filed my claim about 10 days ago and radio silence. What's really frustrating is that you can't even get a straight answer about typical processing times when you do manage to get someone on the phone. I've been checking my online account obsessively but the status just says "pending" with no other details. At least we're all suffering together I guess 😅 Let me know if you find anything that works!
lmao welcome to the wonderful world of bureaucracy 🤡 where nothing makes sense and the rules are made up. Good luck, you're gonna need it!
I went through something similar last year and it was such a headache! The key thing that helped me was getting everything in writing. When I called EDD, they told me it was a workers' comp issue, so I immediately emailed my HR department asking for clarification about my work-related injury claim status. Turns out my employer hadn't even filed the workers' comp paperwork yet! 🤦♀️ That "state disability offset" on your paystub is probably your employer reducing your regular pay because they expect you to receive disability benefits elsewhere. But if no one has actually processed your claim properly, you're stuck in limbo getting neither your full pay nor the disability benefits. My advice: Email both your HR department AND follow up with EDD in writing. Give them a deadline to respond (like 5 business days) and escalate if they don't. You shouldn't have to choose between eating and getting proper medical care while they figure out their paperwork!
This is super helpful advice! The part about the employer not filing the workers' comp paperwork yet is eye-opening - I wonder if that's what's happening in my case too. I definitely need to get everything in writing like you said. Did you end up getting backpay for the time when your employer was reducing your pay but you weren't getting any benefits?

Pro tip: if you cant get through on the phone, try reaching out on social media. Sometimes their Twitter team is more responsive than the phone lines.

Hey Isabella! I went through something similar last month. The call-in notice usually means they need clarification on your treatment or want to verify some details. When I called, they asked about my treatment frequency, if the chiro visit was related to my original disability, and wanted me to confirm some dates. The actual call only took about 15 minutes once I got through. Just be honest and straightforward - they're usually pretty reasonable. Good luck! 🤞

•Thanks Eduardo! That's really reassuring to hear it was only 15 minutes once you got through. I was worried they were going to grill me for hours or something. Did they ask for any additional documentation during the call, or was it just verbal questions?

•That's super helpful Eduardo! 15 minutes doesn't sound too bad at all. I was picturing some intense interrogation 😅 Did they end up approving everything after that call, or did you have to submit additional paperwork?
