CalHEERS told me to contact them - what should I expect?

Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with CalHEERS. They told me I need to contact them, but I'm not sure what to do next. Has anyone dealt with this before? What should I expect when I call them?

Ugh, CalHEERS can be such a pain to deal with. I had to contact them last month and it took forever to get through. Make sure you have all your info ready before you call, they'll ask for a ton of stuff.

For real tho šŸ™„ I swear they make it difficult on purpose

What kind of info did they ask for? I'm about to call them too and wanna be prepared

They wanted my SSN, DOB, address, income info, and a bunch of other stuff. Just have everything handy, trust me

I found a way to get someone on the phone without waiting forever. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/NXjJFZObk3g

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

20 bucks? Idk man, seems kinda steep just to make a phone call

I get the skepticism, but it seriously saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

How long did it take for them to actually connect you with someone?

0 coins

It took about 45 minutes, but I didn't have to sit there listening to hold music. They just called me when an agent was ready

CalHEERS is the worst. I've been trying to get my insurance sorted for months now. Good luck, OP. You're gonna need it 😫

Here's what you need to know about dealing with CalHEERS: • Be patient. Their hold times can be ridiculous, especially during peak hours. • Have all your documents ready. They'll ask for proof of income, residency, and identity. • Take notes during the call. Get the name of who you speak with and a reference number if possible. • If you're not satisfied with the answer you get, don't be afraid to call back and speak with someone else. • Check their website first. Sometimes you can resolve issues online without calling. • If you're having trouble with your online account, clear your browser cache or try a different browser. • Remember, the person on the other end is just doing their job. Being polite can go a long way. Hope this helps! Let us know how it goes.

Anyone else think its crazy that in 2023 we still have to deal with this kinda bureaucratic bs? Like, why can't they just have a decent online system that actually works?
