Medi-Cal phone line dead - How to actually reach a human?
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my Medi-Cal. I tried calling them but the line was dead. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm not sure what to do next. Any advice on how to get through to them or alternative ways to resolve Medi-Cal issues would be really helpful. I'm getting pretty frustrated with this whole situation.

Ugh, I feel your pain. Medi-Cal's phone lines are a nightmare. I've been trying to get through for weeks. It's like they don't want us to actually use our benefits or something 🙄

•For real tho. Its like they purposely make it hard to reach them. I swear the system is designed to frustrate us into giving up.

•Yep, same boat here. Spent hours on hold last week only to get disconnected. This is ridiculous!

•Have you guys tried calling early in the morning? I heard thats when the lines are less busy

•Tried that, still no luck. It's either busy signals or endless hold times. 😩

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/NXjJFZObk3g

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•20 bucks? Idk man, seems kinda steep just to make a phone call.

•I get the skepticism, but it seriously saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

•How long did it take for them to actually connect you with someone?

•It took about an hour, but I didn't have to sit there listening to hold music. They just called me when an agent was on the line.

Have you tried going to a local Medi-Cal office in person? Sometimes face-to-face is the only way to get things done with these bureaucracies.

Here's what I've learned from dealing with Medi-Cal for years: 1. Persistence is key. Keep calling, even if the line seems dead. 2. Try different times of day. Early morning or late afternoon can sometimes work better. 3. Use their online portal if possible. Some issues can be resolved there. 4. If you have a case worker, try emailing them directly. 5. As a last resort, contact your local representative's office. They can sometimes intervene on your behalf. 6. Document everything. Keep a log of all your attempts to contact them. 7. Check if there are any known system outages or updates happening. Hope this helps! Don't give up, OP. The system is frustrating, but you'll get through eventually.

lol welcome to the wonderful world of Medi-Cal, where the phones don't work and the rules are made up 🤡

Have you checked their website? Sometimes they post notices about technical difficulties or changes in their contact procedures.
