Need help confirming Medi-Cal benefits - best way to contact them?
Hey everyone, I'm having some trouble with my Medi-Cal benefits. I need to confirm if they're still active or if there's been any changes. Has anyone else had to deal with this recently? What's the best way to get in touch with someone who can actually help?

Ugh, I feel your pain. I've been trying to get through to Medi-Cal for weeks now. It's like they don't want us to actually use our benefits or something 🙄

•Same here! I swear the system is designed to make us give up. Anyone know if there's a secret number or something?

•Have you tried going to your local office in person? Sometimes that works better than calling.

•I wish I could, but my nearest office is like an hour away and I don't have a car rn. Public transit is a joke where I live 😩

I actually found a way to get through to a real person! There's this service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that calls for you, waits on hold, and then connects you when a live agent picks up. It costs $20, but it saved me hours of frustration.

•That sounds too good to be true. Are you sure it's legit?

•I was skeptical at first too, but I tried it and it worked like a charm. Totally worth the $20 imo

•Wow, that's actually pretty clever. But it sucks that we have to pay extra just to use a service we're entitled to 😤

Here's what I've learned from dealing with Medi-Cal: 1. Call early in the morning, right when they open. 2. Have all your info ready (ID number, recent letters, etc.) 3. Be patient but persistent. Sometimes you gotta call multiple times. 4. If possible, use their online portal to check your status first. 5. Keep a record of who you talk to and when. Hope this helps! Good luck!

anyone else think its ridiculous that we have to jump through so many hoops just to get basic healthcare? the whole system needs an overhaul tbh

Pro tip: if you can't get through on the phone, try emailing them. Sometimes they respond faster that way. Just make sure to include your case number and all relevant details.

•Do you have the email address? I can't find it anywhere on their website 🤔

•It should be on your last notification letter. If not, try [county]@medi-cal.ca.gov where [county] is your county name.

I had a similar issue last month. Turns out my benefits got messed up cuz I moved and forgot to update my address. Make sure all your info is current!
