July 2025 CalFresh emergency allotment missing - anyone else not receive theirs?

Has anyone else not gotten their extra CalFresh benefits this month? The SNAP website clearly says we should've received the emergency allotment by July 21st, but nothing's showing up on my EBT card. This is the first time I've missed getting the extra amount. My regular benefits came through fine on the 10th like always. I called the EBT customer service number but got stuck in that awful automated system. Anyone know what's going on or experiencing the same issue? My family was counting on those extra benefits for groceries this week.

Just to clarify, are you referring to the additional emergency CalFresh benefits? Those actually ended back in April 2023 when the COVID emergency declaration expired. CalFresh went back to providing only the standard benefit amounts. The July 21st date you're seeing might be outdated information or referring to something else. What exactly did the website say?

Wait what?? I thought they were bringing back the emergency allotments because of the new economic support package? I saw something about July 2025 payments on a government site. Are you saying those extra payments aren't a thing anymore? But why would the site mention July 21st then?

I think there might be some confusion here. The emergency allotments that gave households the maximum benefit amount for their household size ended in early 2023. However, there was a recent announcement about a one-time Summer Nutrition Supplement for families with school-age children that might be what you're referring to. These are scheduled to be distributed by July 31st (not 21st) of 2025 and are separate from regular CalFresh benefits. You should check your eligibility for this supplement - not all CalFresh households automatically qualify. It's only for households with children who receive free or reduced-price school meals.

Oh that makes more sense! Thank you for explaining. Yes, I have two kids in elementary school who get free lunches. So I should wait until the 31st before panicking? The website I saw must have had the wrong date then.

The CalFresh system is SO FRUSTRATING!!! They never make these things clear and the website is always outdated with wrong information!!! I spent THREE HOURS last month trying to get through to someone about my missing verification documents. Nobody answers the phones and then they just cut your benefits without warning! The whole system is designed to make people give up!!! If it's that Summer Nutrition thing they've been advertising, my cousin's family got theirs already so they're definitely rolling them out now. They're doing it in batches by last name or county or something weird like that.

I had a similar issue trying to reach someone at the county office about my missing benefits last month. After getting disconnected three times, I finally tried using Claimyr.com - it's this service that gets you through to a real person at the CalFresh office without waiting on hold for hours. They called me back when they had a rep on the line. Saved me so much frustration! There's a video that shows how it works here: https://youtu.be/eZ19FHRETv8?si=_CXnXqNXbLl26WB8 For your specific issue though, I think the previous poster is right about the Summer Nutrition Supplement. It's distributed throughout the month, not all on one specific day.

Thanks for the tip! I might try that service if my benefits don't show up by the 31st. The regular customer service is completely useless when you actually need to talk to someone.

Just to provide a bit more information: The Summer Nutrition Supplement is $125 per eligible child for the summer of 2025. It's meant to help with food costs while school is out since kids don't have access to school meals. The distribution schedule is: - Last names A-H: July 15-22 - Last names I-P: July 23-27 - Last names Q-Z: July 28-31 So depending on your last name, you might not be scheduled to receive it until the end of the month. This is different from the COVID emergency allotments, which as others mentioned, ended in early 2023.

That explains it! My last name starts with W so we're in the last group. Thank you SO much for this detailed info - the website didn't break it down this clearly at all. I'll stop worrying now and just wait until next week.

wait is this just for kids getting free lunch or is it for all calfresh people??? i dont have kids but my benefits are really low and i could really use the extra help this month

The Summer Nutrition Supplement is specifically for households with children who participate in free or reduced-price school meal programs. If you don't have children in your household, unfortunately you wouldn't qualify for this particular supplement. However, if your circumstances have changed (income decreased, expenses increased), you can report these changes to potentially increase your regular benefit amount.

my sister got hers yesterday and she said it was $250 for her two kids. someone told her its gonna happen every summer now not just this year which would be really helpful

That's NOT correct information! This is a one-time supplement for Summer 2025 only! They always do this - create temporary programs and get people's hopes up, then cancel them with no notice. Don't count on this being available next summer unless they specifically announce it again.

UPDATE: You guys were right! Just checked my EBT card balance this morning and the Summer Nutrition money was added yesterday evening. Exactly $250 for my two kids. What a relief! Thanks everyone for your help explaining this - the official website was so confusing compared to the clear info you all provided here.
