CalFresh benefits loaded late this month? Anyone else's EBT card not updated on time?
MY CALFRESH BENEFITS ARE SUPER LATE THIS MONTH!! I always get my benefits loaded by the 5th (based on my case #) but its the 7th and NOTHING on my card yet!! I called the EBT number but the automated system just says my balance is $0. Anyone else having this problem?? My kids are asking for breakfast and I was counting on these benefits. Is the system down or something?? I CANT AFFORD TO WAIT TILL NEXT WEEK!!!

Yes! Mine are late too. I was supposed to get them yesterday (case # ending in 6) but nothing loaded yet. I heard from my neighbor that the county might be having system issues because of some update they're doing to BenefitsCal. Not sure if that's true though.

This happens every few months honestly. The system 'glitches' and they never tell us. Last time it took 3 extra days for my benefits to load. Make sure you don't have any overdue verification documents or missed your SAR7 deadline - that's usually what they blame it on even when it's their fault.

•I work at a community resource center, and we've had several clients report delayed benefits this month. From what we've been told, there was a scheduled system maintenance that ran longer than expected. Benefits should be loaded within 24-48 hours. If you're in an emergency situation, please contact your county office directly and request expedited assistance. They can sometimes issue emergency food vouchers while you wait for your regular benefits.

I had this exact same issue last month and wasted 2 hours on hold trying to reach someone. I finally got through using Claimyr.com - it holds your place in line and calls you back when an actual human is available. Saved me so much stress! They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/eZ19FHRETv8?si=_CXnXqNXbLl26WB8. Definitely worth it when you're dealing with emergency benefit issues and can't waste half your day on hold.

•does that actually work? seems sketchy to use a third party service to contact a government office

•It's legit - I was skeptical too. My worker even commented that more people are using it because the wait times are so bad. They don't access your benefits or anything, they just handle the phone waiting part.

There's actually a benefits issuance schedule posted on the CDSS website. Benefits are loaded over the first 10 days of each month based on the last digit of your case number (1st = cases ending in 1, 2nd = cases ending in 2, etc). However, when the system has technical issues, this schedule can be delayed by 1-3 business days. If your benefits aren't loaded within 3 business days of your scheduled date, you should contact your county office as there may be an issue specific to your case that needs resolution.

my benefits were late last month to and when i finaly got thru to my worker she said i didnt submit my verification for income but i DEFINATELY did. they always loose documents and blame us. make sure you get names of everyone you talk to and ask for a supervisor if they try to say you did something wrong

Just a quick update - I've confirmed with our county liaison that there was indeed a system delay affecting benefit issuance. Benefits should be fully restored by tomorrow morning. For anyone experiencing a hardship, you can request a same-day emergency food voucher if you visit your county office in person with ID. Hope this helps!

•Of course they only fix it after people complain enough. Why can't they just send a text alert when they know benefits will be delayed? Some people have NOTHING to feed their kids in the meantime!

I'm new to CalFresh and this is my first time experiencing a delay like this. Reading through everyone's responses has been really helpful - I was starting to panic thinking I did something wrong with my application or missed a deadline. It's reassuring to know this is a system issue and not something on my end. I'll definitely bookmark that Claimyr service someone mentioned for future reference, and it's good to know about the emergency food vouchers if this happens again. Thanks for sharing your experiences everyone!
