Delivery truck snagged ISP cable, now blocking driveway. Help!
So I'm in a real pickle here. A delivery truck pulled into my driveway and snagged the cable line that brings my internet. Now it's hanging so low over the driveway that neither I nor my neighbor can get our cars out without hitting it. Anyone dealt with something like this before? How long did it take to get fixed?

Ugh, that sucks! I had a similar issue last year. Call your ISP ASAP and explain it's an emergency situation. They should prioritize it since it's a safety hazard. Be prepared to be persistent tho, their customer service can be a real pain sometimes.

•Thanks for the advice! Yeah, I'm dreading dealing with their customer service. Did they give you any kind of timeframe when you called?

•They initially said 3-5 business days, but I kept pushing and got them to send someone out the next day. Don't let them brush you off!

•3-5 days?! That's ridiculous for something blocking your driveway. These companies need to do better smh 🤦♂️

Have you tried contacting the delivery company? They might be liable for the damages and could potentially expedite the repair process.

I work for an ISP (not yours) and here's what you should do: 1. Call customer service immediately 2. Explain it's a safety hazard and you're unable to leave your property 3. Ask for a supervisor if the first rep isn't helpful 4. Get a ticket number and estimated arrival time 5. If they can't come soon, ask about temporary solutions Don't let them off the phone until you have a solid plan. Good luck!

•This is super helpful, thank you! I'll definitely follow these steps. Any idea what kind of temporary solutions they might offer?

•They might be able to send a tech to at least secure the cable higher up temporarily until a full repair can be done. It's worth asking!

Hey, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone quickly. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's the link: https://www.claimyr.com

•Sounds kinda sketchy. Is it legit? Has anyone else tried this?

•I was skeptical too, but it worked for me. Saved me hours of hold time.

Have you considered just ducktaping the cable up higher? Might be a temp fix until they can come out. Just be careful!

•Haha, I actually thought about that! But I'm worried about making it worse or getting in trouble for messing with their equipment.

•DO NOT do this! You could seriously injure yourself or cause more damage. Wait for the professionals.
