Weekly claim phone system glitch after time change - can't file claim
Has anyone else had trouble filing their weekly claim by phone this morning? I called as usual but instead of giving me the option to file my claim, the system only asked if I wanted to check when my address had been updated. Nothing else. I tried hanging up and calling back three times with the same result. Is this a daylight saving time glitch? The system was working fine last week! I need to file today since I already have two job interviews lined up for tomorrow. Anyone else experiencing this or know how to get around it? Getting nervous about missing my filing deadline...

•Glad it's not just me! Have you tried filing online instead? I'm going to try that after my shift ends tonight.

The time change definitely messes with ESD systems every year. I've seen this happen before. Their phone system runs on an older platform that sometimes has trouble with the DST transitions. You should file your weekly claim online through eServices instead - it's much more reliable and you won't have these problems.

•Ummm akshually the weekly automated phone system has NOTHING to do with daylight savings. It's probably just regular maintenance they do EVERY Sunday morning. They never announce it cuz they don't care if we waste our time trying to call 500 times. Try again after 4pm it's usually working by then.

I HATE when this happens!!! ESD never warns us about these system issues and then expects us to file on time or lose benefits. This happened to me in 2024 and I ended up having to file a late claim request which took WEEKS to process while I had bills piling up. The whole system is designed to make it difficult for us to get the benefits we deserve!!!

•While it's definitely frustrating, try not to panic. You still have until Saturday at 11:59pm to file for the previous week. The automated system generally resolves these types of issues within 24 hours. If you're concerned, filing online through your eServices account is the most reliable method.

I've had this exact problem before! Instead of stressing about the phone system, I started using Claimyr to connect directly with an ESD agent. I found them at claimyr.com and they have a video demo at https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3 that shows how it works. They helped me get through right away when the regular phone line was having these weird glitches. The agent was able to file my weekly claim over the phone and also explained why the system was acting up (something about their scheduled maintenance coinciding with the time change). Saved me so much stress!

•does this actually work? i've tried calling ESD like 20 times today and either get the busy signal or it hangs up on me after the menu. might try this if the system isn't fixed by tomorrow

UPDATE: Just wanted to let everyone know I was able to file my weekly claim online through my eServices account with no problems! The site is working fine even though the phone system is still glitchy. Thanks for all the advice everyone!

•Great! Online filing is definitely more reliable. For future reference, if you ever need to speak with an actual ESD agent about a claim issue, try calling right when they open at 8:00 AM or during the last hour before they close (around 3:00-4:00 PM). The wait times are usually shorter during those periods.

this reminds me of when my claim got stuck for 3 weeks last year because of some computer error on their end... had to drive all the way to the worksource office just to get someone to help me because the phone system kept saying my social security number was invalid even though i'd been claiming for months with no problems before that.... anyway hope you got it fixed

•Thanks - yes, got it fixed by using the website! Sorry to hear about your troubles though, that sounds way worse than what I experienced.
