Late weekly job search submissions on Sunday - did anyone still get paid this week?

So I totally messed up this week and forgot to submit my job search activities until Sunday evening around 7pm (I usually do it Friday morning). The system accepted everything and shows my claim as processed, but now I'm freaking out that my payment will be delayed or denied because of the late submission. Has anyone submitted their job searches on Sunday and still gotten paid on time? I really can't afford any payment delays right now with rent coming due. Ugh, why am I so forgetful??

You're fine! As long as you submitted before midnight on Sunday, your payment will process normally. Sunday submissions are actually quite common. ESD processes all weekly claims that were properly submitted during the week (Sunday-Saturday) in their Monday payment batch. I've submitted on Sunday plenty of times and never had an issue with payment timing.

Oh thank goodness! That's a relief. My anxiety has been through the roof thinking I'd messed everything up. Thanks for the quick response!

ACTUALLY this isn't completely accurate information people are giving you. It MATTERS what time you submit!!! ESD starts their processing at 11PM on Sunday, so if you submit after that, you might NOT get paid until TUESDAY or even WEDNESDAY!!! I learned this the hard way when I submitted at 11:52PM one Sunday and my payment was delayed by 2 days!!! The system might ACCEPT your claim but that doesn't mean it will be PROCESSED in the same batch!!!

This is partially correct, but not completely. Yes, the main processing batch starts around 11PM Sunday, but there are also morning batches on Monday. If you submit very late Sunday (after ~11PM) or early Monday, your payment might process a day later than usual. But OP submitted at 7PM Sunday, which is well before the cutoff and shouldn't cause any delay.

Well MY payment was delayed and the rep TOLD ME it was because I submitted too late on Sunday!!! Maybe they changed the system since then but I'm just trying to warn people about MY experience!!!!

hi there! i had the same worry a couple weeks ago when i also submitted on sunday (around 5pm). my payment still showed up in my account on tuesday morning like normal. i think as long as you get it in before sunday night ends you're generally ok. the system says you have until 11:59pm saturday of the following week but obviously waiting that long would definitely delay payment.

I've had several issues with late submissions in the past. While it's true ESD accepts claims until Saturday of the following week, their payment processing batches run on a specific schedule. Generally, if you submit before the Sunday night processing batch (which typically runs around 11pm), you should get paid in the normal timeframe. At 7pm Sunday, you should be fine. If you ever need to check the status of your payment, calling ESD directly is the best approach, but as we all know, that can be nearly impossible. I recently used a service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that got me connected to an ESD agent in less than 10 minutes when I had a payment delay issue. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3. Definitely worth it when you're anxious about payment timing issues.

Thanks for the info! I hope I won't need to call, but if my payment doesn't show up as expected I'll definitely check out that service. Waiting on hold for hours with ESD is the absolute worst.

Wait... I thought we had until Saturday to file? That's what the handbook says, right? I'm confused.

Yes, technically you have until the end of Saturday of the FOLLOWING week to file (so almost 2 weeks total). But if you want to get paid on the regular schedule, you should file by Sunday night of the claim week. Filing later means your payment will be delayed accordingly. The handbook gives the deadline for eligibility, not for timely payment processing.

To provide some clarity on this topic: ESD processes weekly claims in batches, with the primary batch running Sunday night around 11pm. Claims submitted before this cutoff will typically be processed for payment on Monday, with funds arriving Tuesday or Wednesday depending on your bank and payment method. Submitting on Sunday at 7pm (as you did) falls well within the standard processing window. The system allows submissions until the end of the following Saturday, but this extended period is for claim validity purposes, not for timely payment processing. For most direct deposit recipients who file before the Sunday night cutoff, funds typically appear Tuesday morning. Paper checks take 2-3 additional mail days. Job search requirements and timely claim filing are separate issues - as long as you completed your 3 required job search activities during the week and reported them before the Sunday night processing batch, your payment should arrive on the normal schedule.

UPDATE: Just wanted to let everyone know my payment hit my bank account this morning as usual! Thanks for all the reassurance - seems like submitting on Sunday evening worked out fine after all. Definitely going to try to get back to my Friday morning routine though to avoid the stress!
