Is the unemployment office open today - Washington ESD hours?
Does anyone know if the Washington ESD unemployment office is open today? I need to drop off some paperwork for my adjudication but I can't find current hours anywhere online. The website just shows general business hours but doesn't say if they're closed for any holidays or special circumstances. Has anyone been there recently?

Most Washington ESD offices are open regular business hours Monday-Friday unless it's a federal holiday. What city are you trying to visit? Some locations have different schedules.

•I'm trying to get to the Seattle office. My adjudication has been pending for 2 weeks and I want to make sure they have all my documents.

•The Seattle WorkSource office should be open regular hours today if it's a weekday. But honestly, you might want to try calling first to make sure they can help with adjudication paperwork.

You should be able to upload most documents through your SecureAccess Washington account instead of going in person. Have you tried the online portal?

•I tried but the upload keeps failing for some reason. The file size seems okay but it just won't go through.

•Try converting to PDF if it's not already, and make sure it's under 5MB. Sometimes the system is picky about file formats.

If you're having trouble reaching someone at Washington ESD, I recently discovered this service called Claimyr that actually gets you through to an agent. Check out claimyr.com - they have a demo video at https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ that shows how it works. Might save you a trip to the office.

•That sounds interesting. How does it work exactly? Do they call Washington ESD for you?

•Yeah, they handle the calling and waiting on hold, then connect you when an agent picks up. Super helpful when you need to talk to someone about adjudication issues.

•Is this legit? Seems too good to be true with how impossible it is to reach Washington ESD normally.

I went to the Tacoma office last week and they told me most stuff has to be handled online or by phone now. They barely have staff at the physical locations anymore.

•That's frustrating. So even if I go in person they might not be able to help with my adjudication?

•They might take your paperwork but they said it would still go through the same process as if you uploaded it online.

tbh the phone system is so broken right now, I've been trying to call for weeks about my claim

•That's exactly why I mentioned Claimyr earlier. I was in the same boat until I found them.

•might have to check that out, this is ridiculous

The Washington ESD customer service number is usually your best bet but good luck getting through. I called 47 times last month before I got someone.

•47 times?! That's insane. There has to be a better way.

•I know right? The system is completely overwhelmed. Some people have luck calling right when they open at 8am.

•Or try calling during lunch hour around 12-1pm. Sometimes the wait times are shorter.

What documents do you need to submit for adjudication? Maybe there's another way to get them to Washington ESD.

•It's employment verification forms from my last two jobs. They're asking for specific details about why I left each position.

•Those are usually pretty important for adjudication. Definitely worth trying the online upload again or finding a way to speak with an agent.

I had the same problem with file uploads. Try using a different browser or clearing your cache. The Washington ESD website can be glitchy.

•Good idea, I'll try that. I was using Chrome, maybe Firefox will work better.

Marcus Marsh
•Yeah Chrome seems to have issues with the SecureAccess Washington site sometimes. Firefox or Edge usually work better.

Just a heads up - even if you get the documents submitted today, adjudication can still take 3-4 weeks minimum. The backlog is pretty bad right now.

•Ugh, really? I was hoping submitting the extra paperwork would speed things up.

•It might help avoid delays but won't necessarily make it faster. At least you'll know you've done everything you can.

Wait is today a holiday? I know some government offices are closed for random federal holidays that regular people don't get off.

•No major federal holidays today that I know of. Should be regular hours.

•ok good, never know with government offices lol

Pro tip: if you do go in person, bring multiple copies of everything. They sometimes want to keep originals and it's better to be prepared.

Niko Ramsey
•That's smart advice. I'll make copies before I head out.

Update on the Claimyr thing - I used them again yesterday to check on a different issue and got through to Washington ESD in about 20 minutes. Way better than the hours I used to spend on hold.

•How much does something like that cost? Seems like it might be worth it if it actually works.

•Honestly the time saved makes it worth whatever they charge. Check their site for details, but for me it was a no-brainer after wasting so much time calling myself.

I'm dealing with adjudication too and it's been 5 weeks now. The waiting is the worst part because you don't know if you're missing something or if it's just slow.

Niko Ramsey
•Exactly! I keep wondering if I should be doing something more or if I just need to wait it out.

•Same here. I check my account obsessively but the status never changes.

The physical offices are mostly just for WorkSource stuff now anyway. Unemployment claims are handled centrally through the call center and online systems.

•That makes sense but it's frustrating when you can't get through on the phone either.

Have you tried faxing the documents? Sometimes that works when online uploads don't. The fax number should be on your adjudication notice.
0 coins
Niko Ramsey
•I didn't think of that! I'll check if there's a fax number on my paperwork.

•Yeah it's old school but sometimes more reliable than the website. Just make sure to keep a transmission confirmation.

This whole system is such a mess. I've been unemployed for 6 months and half that time has been spent just trying to navigate Washington ESD bureaucracy.

•I feel you. It's like they make it as difficult as possible on purpose.

•Right? You're already stressed about being unemployed and then you have to deal with all this red tape.

If all else fails, try contacting your state representative's office. They sometimes have direct contacts at Washington ESD for constituent services.

Niko Ramsey
•That's actually a really good idea. I hadn't thought of going that route.

Josef Tearle
•It's worth a shot if you've exhausted other options. They can sometimes cut through the red tape.

Let us know what ends up working! I'm sure other people have the same question about office hours and document submission.

•Will do! Thanks everyone for all the suggestions. I'm going to try the file upload in Firefox first, then maybe look into that Claimyr service if I still can't reach anyone.
