How to get ESD unemployment payment verification document for proof of benefits?

I need to provide proof that I'm receiving unemployment benefits for my apartment application, but I can't figure out where to find an official document or paystub from ESD. I've looked all over my eServices account but don't see any option to download or print verification of my benefits. Has anyone successfully gotten an official document from ESD showing your weekly benefit amount? Can they email a PDF if I call? My apartment manager needs something on official letterhead by next Tuesday and I'm starting to panic!

You can get a benefit verification letter directly from your eServices account! Log in, then go to the 'Your benefits' tab. Scroll down and look for the 'Payment history' section. There should be an option there for 'Request benefit verification letter' or something similar. You can download it as a PDF right away - no need to call ESD and wait for someone to email it to you.

Thank you so much! I completely missed that option. Just checked again and found it exactly where you said. The PDF looks perfect - has my weekly amount and everything the apartment manager asked for. You just saved me hours of stress!

This is excellent advice. I work in property management, and we typically require both documents. The verification letter establishes eligibility, while the payment history confirms the funds are actually being received. It's also helpful to have the payment history showing at least 4 weeks of consistent payments if possible.

I HATE how they hide these basic documents!! I spent TWO HOURS last month trying to find the benefit verification letter on their stupid website. Finally got so mad I called them but then got disconnected 3 TIMES!!! The whole system is designed to make you give up I swear.

I felt the exact same frustration trying to reach ESD by phone! After getting hung up on multiple times, I discovered Claimyr.com which connected me to an ESD agent in about 20 minutes instead of spending hours redialing. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3. I was skeptical at first but it actually worked when I needed to verify some payment information that wasn't showing correctly in my account.

my freind just went thru this with section 8 and esd told her to use the benefit determination letter is that the same thing as the verification letter? now im confused

They're actually different documents. The determination letter is what you get when your claim is first approved - it shows you qualified and what your weekly benefit amount will be. The verification letter confirms you're actively receiving benefits now. For housing, they usually want the verification letter plus payment history to show current income.

FYI - I printed my benefit verification letter for my landlord last month but it didn't show my most recent payment (it was 2 days old). Had to explain to my landlord who thankfully was understanding. So maybe call and ask them to generate a super current one if your payment just processed?

That's good to know! My payment just posted yesterday so I'll double-check the verification letter shows it. I really can't afford any delays with this apartment application.

If for some reason you can't find the verification letter option in your eServices account (which sometimes happens if your claim has an unusual status), you can also request an official verification through the Customer Service Contact Center. When you call, specifically ask for a "Benefit Payment Verification Letter" and make clear it's for housing purposes. The representative can generate and email this to you while you're on the phone. The document contains your name, customer ID, benefit amount, and payment schedule on official ESD letterhead, which satisfies most housing requirements.

Update: I found both the verification letter and payment history! For anyone else looking, it's under the "Your benefits" section, then scroll down to "Payment history" and look for the little link that says "Request benefit verification letter". My apartment manager accepted it with no issues. Thanks everyone for your help!
