ESD won't show weekly claim option after reopening active claim - help!
So frustrated right now! I recently reopened my active unemployment claim after taking a break for 6 weeks (got some temporary work that ended). The ESD website shows my reopen status as 'completed' but there's no option anywhere to file my weekly claim! I've looked all over the eServices dashboard and can't find where to submit my weekly certification. Has anyone else run into this issue after reopening? Do I need to wait a certain amount of time before the weekly claim option appears? Really need to get my benefits started again ASAP.

This happens sometimes with the system. The weekly claim option should appear under

Thanks for the quick response! I'll check again tomorrow morning. Do you know if I'll still be able to claim for this week even if the option doesn't appear until tomorrow? My filing window technically started yesterday.

Just double-checked and don't see anything in alerts either. And I'm definitely using the right SAW account since I can see my claim info, just not the weekly claim option. So weird!

I had this EXACT same problem in January! The system glitches sometimes when you reopen. Here's what you need to do: call the claims center at 800-318-6022 and explain the situation. They can unlock the weekly claim function on their end.\n\nBUT good luck getting through - I spent 3 days calling constantly before I could talk to anyone. I finally used Claimyr (claimyr.com) to get through. They have this service that helps you reach an actual ESD agent without the constant busy signals and disconnects. They even have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3\n\nTotally worth it because the agent fixed my issue in about 2 minutes once I actually got through.

Thank you! I tried calling this morning and couldn't get through - just kept getting the automated message about high call volume. I'll check out that service if I can't get through tomorrow. Did you have to wait long after they fixed it for the weekly claim option to appear?

This happened to me too! It's super annoying. For me it randomly appeared after 2 days. I think it's just the system being slow to process the reopen.

Mine took 3 days to show up and I almost missed my filing window. The ESD system is always so buggy 🙄

There could be a couple of things happening here:\n\n1. System delay - As others mentioned, it can take 24-48 hours for the weekly claim option to appear after reopening\n\n2. Missing requirement - Check if you need to complete any additional eligibility questions or job search requirements first\n\n3. Technical issue - Sometimes clearing your browser cache/cookies or trying a different browser can help\n\n4. Timing - Make sure you're looking during your specific claim week (Sunday-Saturday)\n\n5. Status issue - Even though it says \

Thanks for the detailed response! I tried clearing my cache and using a different browser, but still nothing. I'm going to wait until tomorrow afternoon and if I still don't see it, I'll try calling them again. It's reassuring to know I still have time to submit for this week.

THE ESD SYSTEM IS GARBAGE!!!! I had the SAME problem last month and wasted HOURS trying to get through on the phone. Ended up having to go into a WorkSource office in person to get it fixed because the online system is completely broken. They don't care about us at all.

going to worksource is actually smart idea, they can sometimes help with stuff like this faster than phone

Just checking back - did the weekly claim option appear for you yet? If not, I'd recommend trying both the phone approach and visiting a WorkSource center as others have suggested. Sometimes the in-person help can resolve these issues more quickly.

Update: The weekly claim button finally appeared this morning! Looks like it was just a system delay. I was able to file for last week without any issues. Thanks everyone for your help and suggestions!
