ESD phone number for filing weekly claim when eServices is down?
Anyone know the phone number to file my weekly unemployment claim? The eServices website keeps saying "system unavailable" since this morning and I NEED to get my claim filed today or I'll miss my window. I've tried restarting my computer, different browsers, even my phone but nothing works. Getting desperate here since I can't afford to miss a payment. Is there a direct line for filing weekly claims when the website is down?? Help!!

The weekly claim phone line is 800-318-6022. Good luck getting through tho, I was on hold for an hour last week.

•Omg thank you!! I'll try it right now. Did you end up getting your claim processed ok over the phone?

Just to clarify, the number above is the main ESD customer service line (800-318-6022), and yes you can file your weekly claim through it. However, you need to navigate through several prompts - usually option 1, then option 1 again to get to weekly claims. Make sure you have your SSN and PIN ready. Also note that it's likely NOT FMLA you're dealing with (that's Family Medical Leave Act which is different from unemployment). ESD handles regular unemployment insurance (UI) claims. FMLA is handled by your employer or sometimes a third-party administrator.

•You're right - I meant UI not FMLA! My bad. Thanks for the specific menu options, that helps a lot.

•Just a friendly reminder that you actually have from Sunday through Saturday of the following week to file your weekly claim. So if you try on Sunday and the system is down, you still have 6 more days to try again before you miss your filing window.

If you're having trouble getting through on the phone line, try using Claimyr (claimyr.com). I was dealing with website issues last month and couldn't get through on the phones for days. Claimyr got me connected to an actual ESD agent in about 20 minutes. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3. Seriously saved me when I was about to miss my claim deadline.

•does that really work??? i thought those services were scams

•It's not a scam - they basically navigate the phone system and hold your place in line, then call you when they reach an agent. I was skeptical too but it worked when I was desperate.

THE ENTIRE ESD SYSTEM IS DELIBERATELY DESIGNED TO MAKE YOU FAIL!!!! They crash the website on purpose at the end of claim weeks to reduce their payouts. I've seen this pattern for YEARS and nobody can convince me otherwise. The phone lines are just as bad - they hang up on you if the queue is too long instead of just letting you wait. CRIMINAL!!

•While ESD certainly has technical problems, there's no evidence the system is designed to make people fail. They actually conduct system maintenance during off-hours to minimize disruption, though sometimes emergency fixes are needed. If you miss a week due to system issues, you can request a backdate with good cause.

UPDATE: Finally got through on the phone after about 45 minutes on hold. For anyone else with this problem, I had to: 1. Call 800-318-6022 2. Press 1 for claims questions 3. Press 1 again for weekly claims 4. Enter SSN and PIN 5. Then answer all the usual questions (did you work, look for work, etc) The agent said they're aware of the website issues and working on it. Claim is now processed! Thanks everyone for your help!

I had this exact problem two weeks ago! The website was down all Sunday and Monday, and I panicked because I thought we only had 48 hours to file. But the ESD rep told me we actually have the entire following week to submit a claim before it's considered late. So if your claim week ends Saturday, you have until the following Saturday to file. That info really reduced my stress level!

Just to provide the complete information for future reference: 1. Regular weekly claim phone line: 800-318-6022 2. TTY/TDD line for hearing impaired: 800-365-8969 3. ESD Technical Support (for eServices issues): 855-682-0785 And if you encounter website issues in the future, try these steps first: • Clear browser cache and cookies • Try a different browser (Edge sometimes works when Chrome fails) • Try a mobile device on cellular data instead of wifi • Try very early morning (5-6am) or late evening (10-11pm) when server load is lower
