ESD payment status changed from pending to processing - when will I get paid?

Just checked my ESD account and noticed my claim status changed from 'pending' to 'processing' this morning! First time seeing movement in almost 2 weeks. Has anyone experienced this status change before? How long after 'processing' did you actually receive your funds? I'm hoping for Wednesday but not sure if that's realistic. My bank is Chase if that matters for direct deposit timing.

when mine went to processing i got paid 48 hours later. but ive heard it can take up to 3 business days depending on ur bank

Thanks! That's encouraging. Did you have direct deposit too?

Processing status is a good sign! Generally, ESD initiates the payment within 24-48 hours after status changes to processing. Then it depends on your bank's handling time. With Chase, many people report receiving funds on the second business day after processing begins. Wednesday is a realistic expectation if it changed to processing today (Monday), but Thursday might be more likely depending on what time ESD initiates the transfer.

Mine was stuck in processing for over a WEEK and i had to call ESD multiple times!!! Turns out there was a verification issue they never told me about. Don't assume it's automatic - if you don't see the money by Thursday something might be wrong!!

This happened to me too! Was so frustrating getting through to anyone. I finally used Claimyr (claimyr.com) to get connected with an ESD agent after trying for days. They have this video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3. Got through in about 20 minutes and they fixed whatever was holding up my payment. Sometimes you need to talk to a live person to get these things sorted out.

I work in banking (not Chase specifically). ACH transfers typically follow this timeline: Day 1: ESD initiates payment (status = processing) Day 2: Transfer is processed through the Federal Reserve system Day 3: Funds are posted to your account Some banks post ACH credits early in the morning of Day 3, others later in the day. Chase tends to post overnight, so you'd see it in the morning. If your status changed today, Wednesday is possible but Thursday morning is more likely.

This is super helpful, thank you! I'll temper my expectations a bit and not panic if it isn't there Wednesday. Really appreciate the detailed explanation.

anyone know if u can check the exact time it changed to processing? i heard if it switches before 2pm it goes out same day but after 2pm means next day processing. might help u figure out exactly when to expect it

This is partially correct. ESD's payment processing batch runs around 2pm on business days. Claims that reach the 'processing' status before the batch runs will be included in that day's processing. However, even with same-day processing, the funds still take 1-2 additional business days to reach your bank account due to the ACH transfer system.

Make sure you keep filing your weekly claims EVEN IF your payment is processing!!! I got caught in a nasty loop where my payment was processing but I missed filing for a week thinking I didn't need to while waiting and it messed everything up.

Good reminder! I'm definitely staying on top of the weekly claims. Already have a calendar reminder set up for Sunday.

UPDATE: The eagle has landed!!! Money hit my account this morning (Thursday). Thanks everyone for your help and advice! For anyone searching this in the future: took exactly 3 days from 'processing' to payment for me with Chase bank.
