ESD direct deposits delayed this week? Holiday effect on unemployment payments?
Anyone know if unemployment direct deposits are gonna be delayed this week? I usually get mine on Wednesday but I heard somewhere there might be processing delays because of some system updates or something? Can't afford any surprises with rent due next week. Just wondering if anyone has inside info or experienced delays before. Thanks in advance!

ESD doesn't usually announce minor payment delays - it depends on when you file your weekly claim and if there's a holiday. Did you file later than usual? Sometimes banks hold deposits an extra day too.

FYI - From what I understand, ESD is doing overnight system maintenance this week which can delay some direct deposits by 24-48 hours. It doesn't affect everyone, but about 30% of claims might see a one-day delay according to their latest update. If you filed Sunday and usually get paid Wednesday, you might not see it until Thursday this week. If you're really concerned, you can call ESD directly to check your payment status. Getting through to them is tough but I used Claimyr (claimyr.com) last month when I had a payment issue and got connected to an agent in about 15 minutes. •I've used Claimyr too when my adjudication was taking forever - it's worth it when you NEED to talk to someone. But yeah for a one day payment delay I'd just wait it out.

THE SAME THING HAPPENED LAST APRIL!!! ESD always does this - they do "maintenance" without warning anyone then pretend like nothing happened when people's money is late. I'm so sick of the incompetence. My landlord doesn't accept "ESD maintenance" as an excuse for late rent!!!

my sister works at a credit union and she said sometimes there are payment processing delays that aren't even ESD's fault - like ACH system stuff that affects all kinds of direct deposits. happened to me once with my tax refund too

Just to follow up - my roommate's unemployment hit his account this morning (Thursday) instead of yesterday like usual, so there definitely seems to be a one-day delay for some people this week. Hope yours came through too!
