Can I quit my job and still collect Washington ESD unemployment benefits?
I'm in a really toxic work situation and considering quitting my job. My manager has been making my life miserable for months and I'm getting panic attacks before work. I know usually you can't get unemployment if you quit, but I heard there might be exceptions? Does anyone know if Washington ESD allows unemployment benefits if you quit for good cause? I really need to get out of this job but I can't afford to be without income.

another option is to see if you can get reduced hours or take leave first. sometimes that gives you breathing room to job search while still having some income. then if the situation doesn't improve, you have more evidence of trying alternatives before quitting
