Alternative ESD phone numbers besides Olympia for faster claim processing?

I've been calling the Olympia number for ESD (360-486-2849) over and over but NEVER get through. Just automated messages and then disconnects. My claim has been pending for almost 3 weeks and I'm about to miss rent again! Does anyone know if there are other regional offices or different ESD numbers I could try? Maybe a direct line to an adjudicator or something? My friend mentioned something about district offices but I can't find any info online. I'm in Tacoma if that matters for regional offices. Getting desperate here and need to talk to a real person!

Ugh that's what I was afraid of. I tried that one too and same thing - automated messages then disconnect. Did you ever get through to anyone?

There are a few different numbers you can try, but honestly they all feed into the same system. Here's what I know: - Main ESD claims: 800-318-6022 - Employer line: 866-660-0274 (though they won't help claimants) - District offices generally don't handle individual claims anymore Have you tried contacting them through your eServices secure message portal? Sometimes that works better than calling. Make sure you're also still filing your weekly claims even while your main claim is pending.

Thanks for the info! I did try the secure message thing but no response after 10 days. And yes, still filing weekly claims but they all show as "pending" with zero payment. It's so frustrating!

Same boat as u, tried callingcalling for WEEKS!!! The trick is to call exactly at 7:59am right before they open. still took me 6 tries but finally got in the queue. waited 1.5 hrs but finally got a person who fixed my adjucation issue on the spot! worth it.

I had a similar issue last month and was going CRAZY trying to reach someone. My coworker told me about this service called Claimyr that got me through to an ESD agent in about 15 minutes when I'd been trying for days on my own. They basically keep dialing for you until they get through, then call you when they have an agent. Saved me so much time and frustration! Their website is claimyr.com and they have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3. Totally worth it for me since my claim was stuck in limbo.

Is this legit? Sounds too good to be true. Did you have to give them all your personal info??

Yeah it's legit - they don't access your ESD account or anything. They just get you connected to an agent and then you handle your claim directly with ESD. I was skeptical too but it worked for me!

I worked for ESD until 2024, and I can confirm there isn't a "secret" phone number that works better. The regional offices were consolidated years ago. Your best options are: 1. Call the main line (800-318-6022) right at 7:55am 2. Use the secure message system AND specify "Urgent - rent at risk" in the subject 3. Contact your state representative's office - they have special channels to ESD If your claim is in adjudication, calling usually won't speed it up unless there's a specific piece of information they're waiting for. Make sure you've submitted all requested documentation through your eServices portal.

Thank you so much for this insider info! I never thought about contacting my state rep. I'll try that route. And I'll double check eServices to make sure they don't need anything from me that I missed.

The phone system is BROKEN and they know it!! I've been trying to reach someone for 2 months and NOTHING. My friend said they're deliberately making it hard to get through so people just give up. It's all rigged against workers while they protect employers who don't want to pay for unemployment!! Why should we have to pay for special services just to get what we're ENTITLED to??

While the phone system is definitely overwhelmed, it's not deliberately designed to make people give up. ESD is just understaffed for the volume of claims they process. They've been hiring more agents, but training takes time. Your best bet is still to keep trying the official channels while ensuring all your documentation is properly submitted.

Update: I finally got through! I tried the 7:55am trick that someone suggested here AND I also left a message through the secure portal with "URGENT" in the subject line. Not sure which one worked, but I got a call back yesterday and they resolved my issue. Apparently there was a verification issue with my ID that wasn't showing up in my online portal. My claim should be processed within 48 hours now. Thanks everyone for your help!

They said something about a flag on my account that needed manual review but wasn't visible to me for "security reasons." Whatever that means! Just glad it's finally moving forward.
