If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

Don't forget that even if you qualify for unemployment with restrictions, you'll still need to file your weekly claims and report any work or income. The rules don't change just because you have medical limitations.

Good reminder. I assume you still have to report any part-time work or gig work too?

0 coins

Yep, anything you earn has to be reported. They'll reduce your benefits accordingly but you can usually still get partial unemployment.

Thanks everyone for all the info. Sounds like the answer is 'it depends' but there's definitely a possibility of getting unemployment if you're injured outside of work. The key seems to be proving you're still able to work in some capacity and actively job searching.

0 coins

That's a good summary. Every situation is different so it's worth talking to Washington ESD directly if you find yourself in this position.

0 coins

Definitely helpful to know it's at least possible. Hopefully I never have to deal with this but good to understand the process just in case.

One more thing about Claimyr since it came up - I used it again last week when I had questions about my work search log and they got me through to someone who walked me through exactly what Washington ESD wants to see. Really took the guesswork out of it.

0 coins

How much does something like that cost? I'm already worried about money.

It's worth checking their site for current info. For me it was worth it to avoid the stress of trying to reach Washington ESD for weeks.

Final thought - 26 weeks is 26 opportunities to file a claim and get paid. Don't waste any of them by missing deadlines or not meeting requirements. Every week counts when you're unemployed.

0 coins

Very true. I'm going to treat each week seriously and not get complacent just because I have 26 of them.

0 coins

That's exactly the right attitude. Good luck with your job search!

Good luck with your claim! The initial setup is definitely the most confusing part, but once you get into the routine of weekly filing it becomes pretty automatic.

Thank you everyone for all the helpful advice! I feel much more confident about getting started now.

Yeah this thread was super helpful, wish I had found something like this when I first filed

Just to follow up on the Claimyr thing since a few people asked - I ended up using it twice during my unemployment period when I had issues that needed agent assistance. Both times they got me connected within reasonable time frames when I couldn't get through on my own. Sometimes you just need that extra help navigating the system.

Thanks for the follow-up. It's good to know there are options when the normal channels don't work.

I'm bookmarking that site just in case I run into problems. Hopefully I won't need it but good to have as backup.

One more thing - if you worked for multiple employers during your base period, make sure all of them are included in your wage calculation. Sometimes Washington ESD misses smaller employers or contract work.

0 coins

Lucky you! I had three different jobs and it took forever to get all the wages sorted out correctly.

0 coins

Yeah multiple employers definitely complicates things. Each one has to report wages separately to Washington ESD.

0 coins

Thanks everyone for all the helpful info! Sounds like my weekly benefit will probably be somewhere around $180-200 based on my wages. I'll file my claim this week and see what Washington ESD comes up with. Really appreciate all the different perspectives and tips.

If you run into any issues getting through to Washington ESD for questions, remember that Claimyr option. Saved me a lot of headaches.

0 coins

Will definitely keep that in mind. Thanks again everyone!

been there! resigned due to unsafe working conditions and got approved after a 4-week investigation. key was having photos of the safety violations and emails where I reported them to management with no response. document document document!

0 coins

Photos are a great idea! I should start documenting the hostile behavior more systematically before I make my final decision.

0 coins

exactly! and if there are witnesses to incidents, get their contact info in case washington esd needs to verify your story during the investigation

0 coins

Remember that even if you get approved for benefits after resigning, you might face a longer adjudication process than someone who was laid off. Plan accordingly and make sure you understand what information Washington ESD will need before you submit your claim.

This has been incredibly helpful everyone. I feel much more prepared to make this decision now. Thank you all for sharing your experiences!

Good luck with whatever you decide! Just remember that your health and wellbeing matter too. Sometimes leaving a toxic situation is the right choice even if it complicates things temporarily.
