If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

Pro tip: set up direct deposit if you haven't already. Getting paper checks in the mail can delay your payments and you don't want to lose any time during those 26 weeks.

Already set up, thanks! First payment should be direct deposited this week.

Perfect. Makes everything much smoother than waiting for checks.

I'm on week 15 of my claim and starting to feel the pressure. Job market is tougher than I expected when I first filed. 26 weeks seemed like plenty of time but it's going fast.

What kind of work are you looking for? Maybe we're in similar fields and can share leads.

0 coins

I'm in manufacturing but looking at construction too since the skills overlap somewhat.

glad this thread exists, was wondering the same thing when i started my claim last month

0 coins

Yeah this has been super helpful! Feel much better about the whole process now.

One last tip - if your payment seems wrong or missing, don't wait weeks to call. The sooner you contact Washington ESD about payment issues, the easier they are to fix. And if you can't get through on the phone, there are services that can help you connect.

Like Claimyr - they basically handle the calling and waiting for you until they get an agent, then connect you. Super convenient.

Good to know these options exist. Hopefully I won't need them but it's reassuring.

The regional aspect is important too. Cyclical unemployment can devastate entire regions when major employers shut down. Think about manufacturing towns during recessions - everyone's unemployed at once.

0 coins

That's a really vivid example. When the main employer goes, everyone suffers.

0 coins

exactly, and washington ESD offices in those areas get completely overwhelmed

0 coins

Good luck on your exam! Just remember that cyclical unemployment = economy-wide downturn = lots of people competing for few jobs = longest duration = greatest hardship. The math is pretty straightforward.

Perfect summary! That's exactly what I needed to tie it all together. Thanks everyone for all the helpful explanations!

glad we could help, economics can be tricky but these real world examples make it clearer

Whatever you do, make sure you report the severance accurately on your weekly claims. Even if you're not sure how they'll treat it, honesty is the best policy. I've seen people get in trouble for not reporting income they weren't sure about.

0 coins

Absolutely. I'd rather over-report than under-report and face problems later.

0 coins

Smart approach. Washington ESD is pretty good about working with people who are honest about their situations.

0 coins

Good luck with everything! Sounds like you're in a better position than most people who get laid off. Having that severance cushion should make the job search less stressful.

0 coins

Thanks! Yeah, I'm grateful for the severance. It definitely takes some pressure off while I look for something new.

0 coins

That's the whole point of severance really - to give you time to land on your feet. Sounds like your company did right by you.

Keep an eye on your online account for any notices about your claim ending. Sometimes Washington ESD sends important info there that doesn't come by mail or email.

0 coins

Good reminder. I hardly ever check my account unless I'm filing my weekly claim.

0 coins

Yeah, they put notices in there about benefit year endings, potential eligibility for other programs, etc.

0 coins

Bottom line from everything I've read and heard: no regular extensions planned right now. Best bet is training programs or hoping the unemployment rate triggers Extended Benefits, but that's not looking likely.

0 coins

Thanks for the summary. Sounds like I need to start preparing for benefits to end and maybe look into those training programs.

0 coins

That's probably the smart move. Better to have a plan than hope for an extension that might not come.
