If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

Seriously though, stop procrastinating and just file today. Every day you wait is money out of your pocket. The application isn't that complicated and you can always call or use that Claimyr thing if you have questions later.

You're absolutely right. I'm going to file right after I finish reading these responses.

Good! And remember to file your weekly claims every week once you get approved.

One last thing - keep records of everything. Save confirmation numbers, print out important pages, keep track of all your job search activities. Washington ESD might ask for documentation later and you want to be prepared.

Great advice. I'll start a folder for all my unemployment paperwork.

Smart thinking. Organization will save you headaches down the road.

One thing that helped me was calling right at 8am when they open. I got through after about 45 minutes on hold instead of the usual 2+ hours. But honestly, if I had to do it again I'd probably just use one of those calling services.

I'll try calling right at 8am tomorrow. Hopefully I have better luck than I've had so far.

Good luck! Have all your information ready because once you get through they'll want to verify everything quickly.

Update us when you hear something! I'm in a similar situation and it helps to know I'm not the only one dealing with these delays.

Will do! Thanks everyone for all the advice and reassurance. This thread has been really helpful.

Yeah this community is great for getting real information instead of just the official website nonsense.

Make sure you keep records of your job search activities. They don't always ask for details but if they do an audit you want to have everything documented.

0 coins

What kind of records should I keep?

0 coins

Company names, dates, how you searched (online, in person, etc.), contact info if you have it. Just basic stuff to show you're actively looking.

One last thing - if you're working part-time while collecting unemployment, make sure you understand how that affects your benefits. It's not dollar-for-dollar reduction but there is a formula they use.

0 coins

I'm not working right now but good to know for the future if I pick up some part-time work.

0 coins

Yeah it's actually not too bad. You can earn a little bit before it starts affecting your unemployment benefits.

0 coins

Remember that you can collect unemployment for a maximum of 26 weeks in a 12-month period (or until your benefit year ends). After that you'd need to requalify with new earnings if you're still unemployed.

0 coins

Good point, so the weekly amount matters more if you think you'll be unemployed for several months.

0 coins

Exactly, and if you find work before using all 26 weeks, any leftover benefits don't carry over to a future claim.

0 coins

thanks everyone this thread has been really helpful for understanding how the benefit calculation works. seems like most people get a reasonable amount based on their previous wages

0 coins

Glad we could help! The key is understanding that it's based on your highest quarter from your base period, not your most recent earnings.

0 coins

Yeah this cleared up a lot of confusion for me too. Now I know roughly what to expect if I ever need to file a claim.

Thanks for starting this thread! I learned a lot about severance and unemployment that I didn't know before. Definitely saving this for future reference.

0 coins

Glad it helped! This community has been really supportive with good information.

0 coins

One last thought - make sure you keep your severance letter and any other documentation from your employer. Washington ESD might want to see the exact wording to determine how to classify the payment.

0 coins

Definitely keeping everything organized. Thanks for all the helpful advice everyone!
