If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

Bottom line: 26 weeks maximum for regular unemployment in Washington state. No current extensions. Plan accordingly and don't wait until week 25 to get serious about your job search!

This thread has been really helpful. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences and knowledge!

0 coins

Agreed! It's nice to get clear answers instead of trying to decode the Washington ESD website.

One last thing - if you do exhaust your 26 weeks, make sure you understand what you need to do to potentially qualify for a new claim in the future. Don't just assume you're done with the system forever.

Great point. I exhausted my benefits two years ago and was able to file a new claim after working for 8 months. The system does give you second chances if you put in the work.

I worked in HR for years and had to explain this to new employees all the time. Many people don't realize they're contributing until they see it on their first paystub. It's good that you're asking questions and understanding your deductions!

0 coins

Thanks! I want to understand everything on my paystub so there are no surprises.

0 coins

Smart approach! Understanding your deductions helps you budget better and know what benefits you're entitled to.

Just want to add that if you ever have questions about your specific deductions or contribution amounts, your HR department should be able to explain the breakdown. Every employer handles payroll slightly differently.

Good point! I'll ask them if I have any more questions about my specific situation.

And if you ever need to file for unemployment, keep all your paystubs! They help verify your work history and wage amounts.

The other thing to keep in mind is that even after your claim is approved, there can be a delay before you actually receive payment. My claim was approved on a Tuesday but I didn't get the direct deposit until the following Monday.

0 coins

Good point. I set up direct deposit when I filed so hopefully that will speed things up once I'm approved.

0 coins

Direct deposit is definitely faster than waiting for a check in the mail. Smart move.

I know this doesn't help with your immediate anxiety, but Washington ESD has actually improved a lot since the pandemic. Back in 2020-2021 people were waiting months just to get someone on the phone. The current wait times are much more reasonable in comparison.

0 coins

That's true - I remember hearing horror stories during COVID about people waiting 6+ months for benefits. At least now it's usually just a few weeks.

0 coins

Yeah the system was completely overwhelmed back then. Things are definitely more stable now.

The bottom line is it depends on your specific medical restrictions and job availability. If you can do some type of work and are actively looking, you might qualify. But you absolutely need to be upfront about your workers comp claim when you apply for unemployment.

0 coins

I'll make sure to mention the workers comp claim in my application. Better to be honest from the start.

0 coins

Smart move. Washington ESD will find out about the workers comp anyway, so transparency is key.

0 coins

Just want to add that timing matters too. If you're in the middle of workers comp treatment and your doctor hasn't cleared you for any work yet, you probably won't qualify for unemployment. But once you're cleared for light duty or modified work, that's when you might be eligible.

0 coins

Good plan. Having that medical clearance will be crucial for your unemployment application.

0 coins

Also remember that even if you get cleared for light duty, you still need to be actively job searching to maintain your unemployment benefits.
