Have you been filing your weekly claims this entire time? Even while waiting for appeal and after winning, you MUST continue filing weekly claims or you won't get paid for those weeks, regardless of eligibility. I've seen many people win appeals but not get full back pay because they stopped filing weekly claims during the appeal process.
Yes! I've filed every single week without fail since August 2024. I was very careful about that because I read on this forum that you need to keep filing even during appeals. All my weekly claims show as "pending" in the system.
Update for anyone following this thread: I talked to the OP privately and they finally got through to ESD using the advice here. Their payment is being processed now and they should receive all back benefits within 48 hours! Sometimes it just takes persistence (and knowing exactly who to ask for).
Yes! Thank you all SO MUCH for your help! I finally got through and spoke to someone in the Appeals Implementation Unit. They said my claim had been caught in a technical glitch where the system wasn't properly coding my eligibility after the appeal. They fixed it manually and I should have ALL my back payments by Friday! What worked was calling right at 8am and specifically asking for the Appeals Implementation team. Can't thank this forum enough!!!
After reading all this im so glad I used Claimyr instead of calling myself. it saved me HOURS. Just google it. after 2 weeks of trying myself i paid them and got through to ESD in an hour.
Ya they call and wait on hold then call u when they get someone. Not sketchy at all they dont even ask for any personal info just ur phone number to call u back. saved my sanity for real
To directly answer your original question, here are ALL the ESD phone numbers that might help: - Main Claims Center: 800-318-6022 (best chance, but hardest to reach) - Technical Support: 855-682-0785 (limited help with claim status) - Office of Special Investigations: 800-246-9763 (only for fraud issues) - Employer Line: 877-504-5607 (not for claimants, but sometimes agents will help) If your claim has been pending more than 3 weeks, you can also try contacting your state representative's office. They often have ESD liaisons who can look into delayed claims.
Just checking back - were you able to get through to ESD? What did they say about the $5 payment?
Yes! I used that Claimyr service and got through to ESD this afternoon. The agent told me there was a calculation error in their system that affected about 230 claims this week! They're manually correcting all of them and said I should see the remaining $168 deposited within 48 hours. Thanks everyone for your help and suggestions!
THE SYSTEM IS BROKEN!!! This is the third post I've seen this week about payment errors. How are people supposed to survive when ESD can't even pay the right amounts?? And you can never reach anyone there! I'm still waiting for backpay from FEBRUARY!!!! 😡😡😡
While frustrating, it's important to note that these system errors affect a small percentage of claims. When you do encounter issues, document everything carefully and be persistent in reaching out. For backpay issues specifically, you may want to contact your state representative as they can sometimes help expedite resolution of long-standing claims.
Wait so you've been waiting 2 months in adjudication and JUST NOW contacted the governor's office? I would have done that after 3 weeks max! For what it's worth, when I had an issue last year and went through the governor's office route, it took exactly 2 weeks from my contact with them until my claim was resolved. They told me 10-15 business days was their typical timeframe for these escalations.
I kept calling ESD directly hoping to get through. I didn't even know contacting the governor was an option until I found this forum! Lesson learned for sure.

Another important thing to remember is that if you're starting your job in 2 weeks, you should continue filing your weekly claims until you actually start working. You're still eligible for benefits during that waiting period as long as you're meeting all other requirements (available for work, conducting job search activities, etc.). Once you begin working, file that final claim reporting your employment as others have mentioned. This ensures you receive all benefits you're entitled to while properly closing out your claim.

•That makes perfect sense, and I'll definitely keep filing until I actually start the job. One quick follow-up question - do I still need to do the job search activities for these last two weeks even though I already have a job lined up?

Yes, technically you need to continue your three job search activities each week until you actually start working. However, if you have a definite job offer with a confirmed start date, you can request to be placed on "standby" status for those final weeks, which would exempt you from job search requirements. You'd need to call ESD to request this, though, and for just two weeks it might be simpler to just do the job search activities.

•Thanks for clarifying! Since it's just two weeks, I'll probably just continue with the job search activities. Trying to get on standby status seems like more hassle than it's worth for such a short time. I appreciate all the helpful advice from everyone!
