If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

just want to say thanks to everyone who explained this stuff. I was panicking thinking I only had like 12 weeks or something. Knowing I have 26 weeks makes the job search feel less desperate.

Same here! This thread really helped clear things up. Good luck with your job search!

Glad we could help. That's what this community is for - helping each other navigate the Washington ESD system.

One last tip - make sure you understand the difference between your benefit year (52 weeks) and your maximum duration (26 weeks). I've seen people get confused and think they get benefits for a full year.

0 coins

Yeah that would be confusing. So benefit year is how long I have to use the 26 weeks, not how long I get paid. Got it.

0 coins

Exactly. You have flexibility in when to use those 26 weeks within your benefit year, but you can't collect more than 26 weeks total.

I tried calling Washington ESD to ask about my benefit calculation but couldn't get through. The phone system is terrible. That Claimyr thing people mentioned might be worth trying if you need to actually talk to someone. I'm considering it myself.

0 coins

Definitely recommend it. I probably called the regular number 50 times over two weeks and never got through. Claimyr got me connected in like 20 minutes.

0 coins

That's exactly what I needed to hear. The regular phone system is completely useless.

For what it's worth, I think the benefit calculator on the Washington ESD website is pretty accurate. I used it before filing and my actual benefit amount was within $5 of what it predicted. Just make sure you have your wage information correct when you enter it.

0 coins

Good to know! I'll try that calculator before I file. Thanks for all the help everyone - this thread has been really helpful.

0 coins

No problem! Good luck with your claim. The whole process can be overwhelming but most people get through it just fine.

One more thing - your 26 weeks doesn't reset if you work for just a few days or weeks. You need to work a substantial amount and earn enough wages to qualify for a new claim. Otherwise you're stuck with whatever weeks you have left from your original claim.

0 coins

You need to earn at least 6 times your weekly benefit amount in covered employment after your claim started. It's not about time, it's about earnings.

0 coins

This is why temp work can sometimes hurt you if you don't make enough to reset your claim but use up your remaining weeks.

Washington state unemployment duration rules haven't changed much in recent years. 26 weeks is pretty standard unless there's some major economic crisis that triggers federal extensions. Plan for 26 weeks and you should be good.

0 coins

Thanks everyone for all the info. This gives me a much better understanding of what to expect.

0 coins

Good luck with your job search! Construction should pick up in spring so hopefully you won't need the full 26 weeks.

0 coins

Bottom line - plan for the full 26 weeks but hope you don't need them all. The job market is unpredictable so it's better to be prepared for a long search.

0 coins

Thanks everyone for all the helpful info. I feel much more prepared now to start my claim and job search.

0 coins

Good luck with your claim! Remember to file your initial application as soon as possible since benefits don't start until you file.

One last thing - if you have any issues with your claim or questions about your benefit duration, definitely try that Claimyr service. I was skeptical at first but it really works for getting through to ESD when you need answers.

0 coins

I'll keep that in mind if I run into any problems. Hopefully the process goes smoothly but it's good to know there are options if I need help.

I used Claimyr too when I had questions about my remaining weeks. Definitely worth it to get accurate information directly from ESD instead of guessing.

For anyone still having trouble getting through to Washington ESD with questions, I really can't recommend Claimyr enough. After spending literally hours on hold and getting disconnected multiple times, they got me connected to an agent in under an hour. Worth checking out their demo video if you're frustrated with the phone system.

0 coins

I might have to try that if I run into problems. The thought of sitting on hold for hours is not appealing.

0 coins

Same here, I hate dealing with government phone systems. Always end up hanging up in frustration.

0 coins

Bottom line - if you were laid off and worked long enough to earn sufficient wages, you should qualify for unemployment benefits in Washington. The application process isn't that bad, it's getting help when you have questions that's the real challenge.

0 coins

This thread has been super helpful. I feel much more confident about applying now.

0 coins

Glad to help! Don't hesitate to apply - you've got nothing to lose and potentially weeks of benefits to gain.
