If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

been through this process twice and my advice is don't count on the money being there right away even after approval. sometimes there are payment delays or system issues. try to have at least some emergency savings if possible before relying completely on unemployment

Unfortunately not everyone has savings when they get laid off unexpectedly. That's why people need unemployment in the first place.

0 coins

true, I just meant if you have any cushion at all it helps because the system isn't always perfectly reliable with timing

0 coins

For what it's worth, Washington has some of the better unemployment benefits compared to other states. The weekly amounts are decent and the 26-week duration is pretty standard. Plus they've made the online system a lot better over the past few years.

0 coins

The online system is definitely better than it used to be but calling them is still a nightmare if you have problems.

0 coins

That's where services like Claimyr come in handy. I used them when I had adjudication issues and it saved me so much frustration trying to get through on the phone.

Bottom line for your brother: file for unemployment benefits immediately, expect the job search to take 2-3 months during winter, but know that opportunities will increase significantly starting in March. Use this time to network, update skills, and prepare for when hiring picks up.

This is really helpful advice. I'll pass it along to him. At least now we know what to expect timeline-wise.

0 coins

Thanks for laying it out so clearly. It helps to have realistic expectations instead of just hoping things will magically improve.

And remember, if he runs into issues with his unemployment claim during this busy period, don't just keep calling the regular ESD number endlessly. Tools like Claimyr exist specifically to help during high-volume times when getting through normally becomes nearly impossible.

0 coins

I'm still skeptical about third-party services, but I have to admit the regular system is pretty broken when everyone's trying to use it at once.

At this point I'm willing to try anything that actually works. Thanks for all the advice everyone!

The rates change annually based on the state's average weekly wage. So the amounts people are mentioning from previous years might be slightly different now.

0 coins

That makes sense. I'll make sure to look at the current 2025 rates when I get my determination.

0 coins

Yeah I think the maximum went up this year compared to last year.

0 coins

Bottom line: you'll probably get a decent amount based on your previous salary, but the exact calculation depends on your specific earnings history. The determination letter will give you the definitive answer.

Thanks everyone for all the helpful information! I feel much more informed about what to expect now.

0 coins

Good luck with your claim! Hope it goes smoothly for you.

just want to say thanks to everyone who explained this stuff. I was panicking thinking I only had like 12 weeks or something. Knowing I have 26 weeks makes the job search feel less desperate.

0 coins

Same here! This thread really helped clear things up. Good luck with your job search!

Glad we could help. That's what this community is for - helping each other navigate the Washington ESD system.

One last tip - make sure you understand the difference between your benefit year (52 weeks) and your maximum duration (26 weeks). I've seen people get confused and think they get benefits for a full year.

0 coins

Yeah that would be confusing. So benefit year is how long I have to use the 26 weeks, not how long I get paid. Got it.

0 coins

Exactly. You have flexibility in when to use those 26 weeks within your benefit year, but you can't collect more than 26 weeks total.

0 coins

tbh the whole overpayment system is broken. they make mistakes then expect us to pay for their errors. but unfortunately thats just how it is and fighting it is usually harder than just paying

0 coins

I mean if the OP really did report everything correctly then it's worth appealing. Sometimes it's genuinely their mistake.

0 coins

true but good luck proving that without perfect records from 2 years ago

0 coins

Bottom line - don't ignore this. The consequences are real and they get worse with time. Either appeal if you think it's wrong, negotiate a payment plan you can afford, or look into hardship options. But do something.

0 coins

Thanks everyone for the reality check. I'll start by trying to reach someone to discuss payment options. This is scary but ignoring it clearly isn't an option.

You got this! Most people find a solution once they actually talk to Washington ESD. The key is just making that contact.
