I would strongly recommend consulting with a disability attorney before making any applications. Many offer free consultations and they understand the interaction between these different benefit programs much better than the average person.
Bottom line: in most cases, you cannot receive both unemployment and disability benefits at the same time because the eligibility requirements contradict each other. There might be very specific exceptions, but they're rare and you'd need expert advice to navigate them safely.
The bottom line is that most people who worked steadily and got laid off will qualify for unemployment. The requirements aren't as strict as some people think, especially if you worked full-time for several months.
Good luck with your claim! The whole process can seem overwhelming at first but once you get started it's pretty straightforward. Just make sure to keep track of all your job search activities from day one.
Had to use Claimyr myself last month when I couldn't get through to ask about my base period calculation. The regular phone system is just broken at this point. At least claimyr.com got me connected to someone who could actually explain my specific earnings situation.
My experience was: claim processed → determination letter → first payment about 2 weeks later. The waiting is the worst part but it does happen eventually.

The earnings allowance has been a lifesaver for me. I've been able to take on some consulting work while still collecting most of my benefits. It's really helped financially during this transition period.

•Same here! It's nice to have some extra income without completely losing benefits. Makes the job search less stressful when you're not worried about money.

•Absolutely. And the work experience helps too - keeps your skills sharp while you're looking for something permanent.

Thanks everyone for all this information! I feel much more confident about taking on part-time work now. The earnings allowance is way more generous than I expected. Time to start looking for some supplemental income opportunities.

•Same here - this thread has been super helpful. I'm going to look into that Claimyr service too if I need to call Washington ESD about anything else.
