If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

thanks for asking this question OP! i'm in almost the exact same situation and didn't even know partial unemployment was a thing. definitely going to file a claim now.

Glad this thread helped! I feel so much more confident about filing now.

same! the community here is really helpful with these confusing washington esd questions.

One last thing to remember - your benefit year starts when you first file, whether you're partially or fully unemployed. So if you think your hours might get cut more later, it's better to file sooner rather than later to maximize your benefit period.

0 coins

That's really good to know! I was thinking about waiting to see if my hours picked up but sounds like I should file now.

0 coins

Exactly. You can always stop filing weekly claims if your hours increase, but you can't get back weeks you didn't claim.

Just remember that unemployment benefits are temporary. Keep looking for work and document your job search activities. The weekly claims are just one part of staying eligible for benefits while you search for a new job.

0 coins

Absolutely! I'm definitely still actively looking for work. The unemployment is just to help me pay bills while I search.

0 coins

That's exactly the right attitude. Good luck with your job search and your weekly claims!

Yuki Ito

I've been using the mobile version of the SecureAccess Washington website to file my weekly claims and it works pretty well. Sometimes easier than trying to use a computer if you're having technical issues.

0 coins

I didn't know you could do it on mobile! That's really convenient.

The eligibility requirements seem straightforward when you break them down like this, but Washington ESD's website makes it sound so much more complicated. Why can't they just explain things in plain English?

Mei Wong

Government websites are notorious for being written in legalese instead of normal human language. It's frustrating when you're already stressed about being unemployed.

0 coins

Exactly! Like we're all dealing with enough stress without having to decode government speak.

I used that Claimyr thing someone mentioned and it actually worked great. Got connected to a Washington ESD agent in about 30 minutes when I had been trying to call for days. The agent was able to explain my specific eligibility situation and help me understand what documents I needed. Sometimes talking to a real person is so much better than trying to figure everything out online.

Good to hear another positive experience with that service. I'm feeling much more confident about this whole process now thanks to everyone's help.

This thread has been super helpful for understanding unemployment eligibility. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences and knowledge!

One more thing - if Washington ESD denies your claim initially, you can appeal the decision. You have 30 days from the determination letter to file an appeal. Don't give up if the first decision doesn't go your way.

0 coins

The appeal process can take a while though, so definitely try to get everything right the first time if possible.

0 coins

And if you need to talk to someone at Washington ESD about your appeal or claim status, that Claimyr service I mentioned earlier really does work. Worth checking out their demo if you're facing phone connection issues.

0 coins

Bottom line: file your claim today. You have nothing to lose and potentially weeks of benefits to gain. Getting fired doesn't automatically disqualify you, especially in your situation where it sounds like retaliation for safety complaints.

Good luck! Keep us posted on how it goes.

0 coins

Will do! This thread has been incredibly helpful.

One more thing - if you've been self-employed or worked as a contractor recently, mention that in your application. The rules are different for gig work and contractor payments.

0 coins

I did some DoorDash between jobs. Should I include that?

0 coins

Yes, include all work activity. They need the complete picture of your recent work history.

0 coins

Good luck with your application! The first time is always nerve-wracking but you'll get through it. Washington ESD processes thousands of these every week so they're used to helping people figure it out.

0 coins

Thanks everyone for all the helpful advice! I feel much more confident about starting the process now.
