Remember that Washington ESD will verify your employment with your previous employers, so make sure all the information you provide is accurate. Any discrepancies could delay your claim or cause adjudication issues.
One last thing about getting help if you need it - that Claimyr service I mentioned has been really useful for people who get stuck in adjudication or have complex situations. Sometimes talking to an actual person at Washington ESD is the only way to resolve certain issues, and Claimyr makes that possible when the phone lines are impossible.
Deposits can be delayed for various reasons - bank processing, Washington ESD system maintenance, verification reviews, or even high volume periods. Usually nothing to worry about if your claim shows approved.
The Washington ESD handbook explains this pretty clearly if you can find it on their website. Severance pay is treated as wages if it's payment in lieu of notice, but not if it's just a goodwill gesture. Most severance packages are the first type, so expect to wait.
Just went through this whole process. The most important thing is filing immediately. Don't second-guess it, don't wait for severance to end, just file. You can always ask questions later but you can't go back and change your filing date.
One last thing - make sure your contact information is up to date when you file. Washington ESD will send important notices to your address and email, and if they can't reach you it can delay your claim. I almost missed an important adjudication letter because I forgot to update my address.
To summarize for the OP: File immediately (today), gather your employment documents first, be prepared for a waiting week, keep filing weekly claims even during processing, and don't be afraid to use services like Claimyr if you need to actually talk to someone at Washington ESD. Good luck!

The key thing is to file consistently and on time. I set a reminder on my phone for every Sunday at 5pm to file my weekly claim.

•It really helps. Missing even one week can mess up your whole schedule and cause delays.

Bottom line: Washington ESD processes payments Tuesday/Wednesday for claims filed by Sunday. Your bank might add another day or two. Plan accordingly and don't panic if it's a day late.
