My cousin went through this same thing last year when his factory got automated. Took months to get his Washington ESD benefits straightened out.
He didn't know about services like Claimyr back then. Might have been faster if he had.
Just wanted to add that if you're still working part-time while applying for unemployment, you can still potentially qualify for partial benefits. Washington ESD has rules about how much you can earn and still receive some unemployment compensation.
Bottom line: 680 hours of work, $1000 minimum in wages, work in at least 2 quarters, and separated from work through no fault of your own. If you check all those boxes, you should qualify. The Washington ESD application will verify all this information when you submit it.
Keep all your documentation organized - benefit letters, job search logs, correspondence with Washington ESD. If you end up needing to file appeals or deal with any issues later, having everything organized will save you major headaches.
Last thing - don't be ashamed to ask for help from family, friends, or community resources during this transition. Job searching is tough enough without the added stress of financial uncertainty.
The benefit amount also depends on whether you qualify for regular UI or if you're on standby status. Standby can sometimes have different calculations.
Bottom line: if you were making good money, you'll probably get a decent unemployment benefit. But don't expect it to fully replace your salary, even at the maximum amount.

I used Claimyr last month when I had questions about my claim and it was definitely worth it. Saved me hours of trying to call Washington ESD directly. The agents were able to explain exactly what my options were for my specific situation.

•I think I'm going to give that a try. I really need to talk to someone who can look at my specific case rather than just guessing.

Make sure you understand the elimination period for your disability benefits too. Some policies don't start paying until you've been out of work for a certain number of days.

•Mine has a 7-day waiting period, so that's something to factor in for sure.
