just filed my 4th claim this year (different layoffs, crazy year in retail). washington esd approved it no problem. they dont care how many times youve filed as long as each one is legitimate
Bottom line: no limit on repeat unemployment claims in Washington. File with confidence as long as you meet the eligibility requirements. Don't let myths and rumors prevent you from getting benefits you've earned through your work history.
One more thing - make sure your employer doesn't contest your claim. If they do, it could delay your benefits while Washington ESD investigates. Most layoffs are straightforward but it's something to be aware of.
This has been a really informative thread. I'm saving it for reference because I know other people in my situation who could use this info. Thanks everyone!
If you do need to reach Washington ESD directly about this or any other questions, that Claimyr service is still the best way I've found to actually get through to a real person. Much better than the regular phone system.
Update: I decided to take the part-time job! Thanks everyone for all the helpful advice. I feel much more confident about navigating the partial benefits system now. Will make sure to report everything accurately and keep looking for full-time work too.
Just to add - if you worked in multiple states recently, you might need to file an interstate claim which can complicate things. But since you mentioned working one job, you should be fine filing a regular Washington state claim.
The whole process seems overwhelming at first but once you get into the routine of filing weekly claims it becomes pretty automatic. The hardest part is usually just getting your initial claim approved and understanding your benefit amount.

Just remember that employers are looking for someone who can do the job, not someone with a perfect employment history. Focus on your skills, experience, and what you can bring to their company.

•Thanks for the reminder. I need to focus more on selling my skills rather than worrying about the gap.

•Exactly! The gap is just one small part of your overall story.
