Been following this thread and wanted to say thanks for all the info. Filing my claim tomorrow and feel way more prepared now.
Just to wrap up the main calculation for anyone still confused: Washington ESD takes your highest earning quarter from your base year, divides by 26, then multiplies by 0.6 (60%). That's your weekly benefit amount, subject to the $295 minimum and $999 maximum for 2025.
The whole system is designed to be confusing so people give up and don't claim benefits they're entitled to. Don't let them discourage you - if you worked and paid taxes, you deserve these benefits.
One last tip - if you get denied, don't give up. You can appeal the decision and sometimes they made mistakes in their initial review.
And if you need help with the appeal process, that's another situation where Claimyr can help you get through to Washington ESD to discuss your case.
final tip - take screenshots of everything when you file your claim! washington esd's website can be glitchy and having proof of what you submitted can save headaches later
This whole thread is making me realize I probably filed too early when I got laid off last month. I filed the day before my last day because I was anxious to get the process started. Wonder if that's why my claim has been taking so long to process...
This is exactly the kind of situation where Claimyr really helps - getting through to ESD to fix timing issues like this. Much faster than trying to call on your own.
For what it's worth, Washington's unemployment benefits are actually pretty decent compared to other states. The maximum of $999 per week is higher than most places.
Has anyone had issues with Washington ESD not having all their wage information? My previous employer went out of business and I'm worried they didn't report my wages properly.
This is another situation where being able to actually talk to someone at Washington ESD would be helpful. I'd definitely recommend trying Claimyr if you need to discuss wage issues with an agent.

For what it's worth, I also had success with that Claimyr service when I needed to talk to someone at Washington ESD about my severance situation. Way better than the endless phone tree. Sometimes you just need to talk to a real person to get clarity on your specific circumstances.

•I think I'm going to try it. This thread has been helpful but I still have questions about my particular severance package.

•Good call. Reddit advice is great for general guidance but every severance agreement is a little different.

Bottom line - file now, report honestly, expect delays if you're getting ongoing severance payments. The Washington ESD system isn't perfect but it works if you follow the rules and are patient with the process.

•Thanks everyone for all the advice. I'm going to file my claim today and just be completely honest about my severance situation.

•Smart move. Good luck with the job search too - hopefully you'll find something before the severance even runs out.
