TWC appeal won - need help backdating payment requests with a real agent
I've been fighting my disqualification for months and FINALLY won my appeal last week! The determination letter says I'm eligible for benefits going back to January, but I wasn't able to request payments during the appeal process. Now I need to backdate like 12 weeks of payment requests, but the website won't let me do it. The online system just gives me an error saying "payment request period not eligible" when I try. I've called the TWC number literally 53 times over 3 days and either get a busy signal or the automated system that doesn't have options for my situation. How do I actually speak to a human being who can help manually process these backdated payment requests? I'm getting desperate since I've got $5,700+ in approved benefits I can't access! Has anyone successfully gotten through recently?

•I tried that yesterday and still got the busy signal for 45 minutes straight. Did you have to do anything special? Like call a specific number?

The TWC phone system is completely broken. I won my appeal in February and spent THREE WEEKS trying to get through to backdate my payments. I eventually gave up calling the main number and called my local Workforce office instead. They couldn't help directly but transferred me to someone who could. Worth a try if you're desperate!

•That's actually a really good idea! I didn't even think about trying the Workforce office. I'll look up my local one right now. Thanks!

This is exactly why I used Claimyr when I had my backdating issue after my appeal. The regular TWC number is basically impossible to reach a human on these days. Claimyr connects you directly to a TWC agent - I was skeptical but it worked in less than 20 minutes. Check out their demo video: https://youtu.be/V-IMvH88P1U?si=kNxmh025COIlIzKh and their website claimyr.com. For backdating payment requests after an appeal, you definitely need to talk to an actual agent since the system won't let you do it online.

•Is that service legit? I've never heard of it before. How much does it cost? I'm desperate at this point but also super wary of scams.

•Totally legit. I was hesitant too but after 2 weeks of failing to get through on my own it was worth it. They just call TWC for you and connect you when an agent answers. The TWC agent I got was able to process all my backdated weeks in one call since I'd already won my appeal like you did.

Backdating payment requests after winning an appeal is a common issue. Here's what you need to do: 1. You MUST speak with a TWC representative - this cannot be done online as the system has limitations for backdating multiple weeks. 2. Have your appeal determination letter ready with the case number and effective date. 3. Once you reach an agent, explain that you need to backdate payment requests following a successful appeal. They'll verify your eligibility period and process the requests manually. 4. For each backdated week, you'll need to provide your work search activities, so have those records ready. Note that TWC agents can process all your backdated weeks in a single call, but you'll need to answer the usual eligibility questions for each week separately. The agent will guide you through this process.

•Thank you for the detailed info! I have all my work search activities documented in a spreadsheet (3 per week). I just wish I could get through to someone to do this process. I'll keep trying at different times of day.

THE TWC PHONE SYSTEM IS A COMPLETE JOKE!!! I went through this EXACT same thing in March after winning my appeal. Called 200+ times over TWO WEEKS and never got through. Finally I had to contact my state representative's office and they have special contacts at TWC who fixed it within 48 hours. Try that if nothing else works!!!!

•yep the state rep trick actually works sometimes. my neighbor did this when her benefits got stuck for like 2 months

•I never would have thought of contacting my state rep. That's a really interesting last resort option. Let me try some of these other suggestions first, but I'll keep that in mind if I get truly desperate. Thanks!

Has anyone here actually gone in person to a TWC office for this kind of situation? I've been wondering if that might work better than phoning.

•In-person visits to Workforce Solutions offices can sometimes work, but they primarily handle job search assistance rather than claim issues. For backdating payment requests specifically, most local offices will still need to call the same TWC claim center on your behalf. However, some offices have direct lines or special contacts that can be helpful. It's worth trying if you live near an office and have exhausted phone options.

Update: I finally got through! After trying all weekend with no luck, I used the Claimyr service that someone mentioned above. Got connected to a TWC agent in about 15 minutes. The agent was able to backdate all 12 of my payment requests in one call! She said the payments should hit my account within 3 business days. Such a relief after weeks of stress. Thanks everyone for your suggestions!

•AMAZING! Did they say why the system wouldn't let you backdate online? This might help others with similar problems.

•Yes! The agent explained that the online system can only handle backdating 2 weeks on its own. Anything more than that (especially after an appeal) requires manual intervention by a claims specialist. Apparently it's a limitation of their software that they've been "working on fixing" for years.
