PA UC weekly certification asking for IDme verification again - will this reset my claim?

So frustrated right now! I had major issues with my claim last month and finally chatted with a PA UC rep on Tuesday who fast-tracked my application. They said everything was all set, but when I just tried to file my weekly certification, the system is asking me to provide ALL the same info again including going through IDme verification! It's literally asking me to reopen my claim from scratch. I'm seriously worried that if I go ahead and complete all these steps again, my claim that's FINALLY approved will get thrown back into processing limbo. Has anyone dealt with this before? Should I just go ahead and fill everything out again or will that mess up my current claim? I really can't afford to wait another 3-4 weeks if this resets everything.

DONT DO IT!! This happened to me in February and I completed everything again thinking I was supposed to. My claim got flagged as a duplicate and I ended up with TWO open issues that took 6 weeks to resolve! The system is super glitchy after they do manual interventions.

Omg thank you for the warning! 6 weeks?! I would be completely broke by then. Do you know what I should do instead?

I tried that already - closed everything, cleared cache, even tried a different browser. Still asking for the same stuff when I log back in 😩

This is actually a common issue with PA's system when they manually expedite claims. When a representative intervenes on your behalf, sometimes the system doesn't properly update all the interconnected databases. Here's what you should do: 1. DO NOT complete the reapplication process - this will create a duplicate claim 2. Wait 24-48 hours first - sometimes the system syncs overnight 3. If it still prompts for IDme after 48 hours, you need to speak with a claims examiner directly, not just any representative The key is getting back in touch with someone who has the authority to fix the database flag on your account. Regular chat agents often don't have this access level.

Thank you so much for the detailed explanation! I'll wait until Friday morning to see if it fixes itself. But if I need to contact them again, any tips on actually getting through? I spent 4 hours on hold last time before giving up and trying chat.

I had this exact issue back in March after a rep helped expedite my claim. The system was showing IDme verification needed again because the manual override they did didn't fully update all parts of your account. If you need to speak with someone, I'd recommend Claimyr (claimyr.com) - it's what I used to finally get through to PA UC. They have a system that holds your place in line and calls you when an agent is available. Saved me hours of frustration with busy signals. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2 The important thing is to speak with someone in the claims department, not just customer service. Ask specifically for them to check if your claim has a "manual review flag" that needs to be cleared from the IDme verification system.

Thank you! I'll check out that service if I can't get through tomorrow. I like that they call you back instead of being stuck listening to that awful hold music for hours. And good tip about asking for claims specifically - the chat agent I talked to Tuesday definitely seemed limited in what they could access.

Wait I'm confused. Are you saying you already got approved and received payments and now it's asking for verification again? Or did they just process your initial application and you haven't been paid yet? Those are two different situations.

Sorry if I wasn't clear! They processed and approved my initial application on Tuesday, but I haven't received any payments yet. This would be my first weekly certification since being approved. I was supposed to get my Money Network card within 7-10 business days.

That makes more sense. If you haven't certified yet or received any payments, don't worry too much. The system might just be catching up. Try the certification again and if it still asks for IDme, definitely call like others suggested.

Listen I went through the EXACT same thing in 2025 (Jan) and what finally fixed it was waiting until Sunday night to file my weekly certification rather than trying right after they approved me. For some reason the system needed time to fully update across all their databases. The rep told me their system runs major updates Saturday nights, so if you wait until Sunday the IDme verification request should disappear. If that doesn't work, then yes, you'll need to get back in touch with them. And good luck with that! It took me 37 calls over two days to finally get through to someone who could help. The PA UC phone system is absolutely BROKEN. Whatever you do, DO NOT start a new application or re-verify through IDme! That will 100% cause problems with your claim and delay everything by weeks.

37 calls?! That's insane. OK I'll try waiting until Sunday night to file. My benefit week ends Saturday anyway. Fingers crossed the system updates like you mentioned! Thanks for sharing your experience.

One additional important detail: if Sunday comes and you still have this issue, when you call make sure to specifically mention "Error Code UC-42" which is their internal code for IDme verification conflict after manual claim intervention. This will help get you to the right department faster. Most front-line reps won't know what to do with your situation without that code.

That's super helpful! I'll write down that error code just in case I need it. Thank you!

I've been following PA UC issues for a while and this is unfortunately becoming more common since they started doing manual interventions. The system architecture really wasn't designed to handle these expedited processes smoothly. A few additional tips that might help: - Try logging in during off-peak hours (early morning or late evening) when there's less traffic on their servers - If you have to call, Monday mornings right at 8am tend to have shorter wait times - Document everything - take screenshots of what you're seeing so if you do need to call, you can reference specific error messages The good news is that once this gets resolved, it usually stays resolved. The bad news is PA UC's IT infrastructure is about 20 years behind where it should be. Hang in there!
