PA UC shows \

I've been stuck in unemployment limbo for over 2 months and I'm at my wit's end! I initiated my PA unemployment claim on January 12, 2025, and have religiously filed my weekly certifications for 9 consecutive weeks. I've received my letter of determination and my claim shows as "active" (not under review). My monetary finality date passed on February 14, 2025, but there's still an "unresolved issue" showing on my account. EVERY SINGLE weekly claim shows "in progress" with no payments issued.\n\nI've tried everything to get help:\n- Called the PA UC number at 1-888-313-7284 literally 60+ times some days (only get busy signals)\n- Sent 4 separate messages through the portal with zero response\n- Tried the chat feature multiple times but it's always "at capacity"\n\nMy situation is extra complicated because I live in West Virginia but have worked in Pennsylvania for almost 20 years, so I don't have a PA state representative to contact for help. The rent is due next week and I'm completely out of options. Has anyone found ANY way to actually reach a human being at PA UC when you're dealing with an unresolved issue? Or any solution for out-of-state claimants?

Thanks for the suggestion! I've never heard of Claimyr before. Does it actually work? I'm desperate enough to try anything at this point. Did they explain what your unresolved issue was when you finally got through?

THIS SYSTEM IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!!! I had the EXACT same problem last year. Worked in PA, lived in Ohio. Had an \

That's really discouraging to hear :( Did you ever get your back payments for all those weeks? I'm starting to worry they'll deny everything even though I'm eligible.

omg the interstate claims are the WORST. i had this same issue last year (live in md, worked in pa) and what fixed it for me was faxing (yes FAXING lol what year is it??) my ID and most recent paystub to 717-772-0378 with my claim number on every page. for some reason the fax went to an actual person who fixed my unresolved issue within 2 days. might be worth trying!

Seriously, a FAX?? That's like using a horse and buggy in 2025! But I'm desperate enough to try anything at this point. Thanks for the specific fax number - I'll see if I can find somewhere to send a fax tomorrow. Did you write anything specific on your fax cover page?

To answer the question about getting paid with an unresolved issue - it depends on the TYPE of issue. There are two categories:\n\n1. Technical issues (wage verification, address verification, etc.) - these generally don't stop payment after monetary finality date\n\n2. Eligibility issues (quit/fired questions, availability for work, refusal of work) - these WILL stop payment until resolved\n\nWithout speaking to an agent, it's impossible to know which type of issue you have. That's why reaching someone is so important.

That makes sense. I left my job when they closed our office and moved all operations to Texas (I couldn't relocate). They gave us severance packages and everything. I assumed that wouldn't cause eligibility issues, but maybe that's what's happening? This is so frustrating not knowing!

Have u checked ur Correspondence inbox in the PA UC portal? Sometimes they send requests for info there but don't notify u by email or text. I missed one for 3 weeks and that's why my claim was held up.

Yes, I check it obsessively! There's nothing in there except my initial monetary determination letter and the confirmation of my weekly claims. No requests for additional information.

Based on what you've shared about leaving your job due to office closure, that shouldn't be an eligibility issue. That's considered a lack of work situation, which is a qualifying separation. The unresolved issue is more likely related to your interstate claim status. When I finally got through using Claimyr, they fixed my issue in literally 5 minutes - it was something that couldn't be resolved without a human but was super simple once someone looked at it.

Thanks for the reassurance. I just checked out that Claimyr site, and I think I'm going to try it tomorrow morning. At this point, I'd do almost anything to get this resolved. I've never gone this long without income before.

Just an update on my fax suggestion - make sure to include your full name, last 4 of SSN, and claim number on EVERY page. My cover letter just said

EXACTLY!! The whole system is running on like 1970s COBOL programming or something!! My friend works in IT and said the PA unemployment system is using technology older than most of the people applying for benefits. COMPLETE JOKE!!

i had unresolved issue for 6 weeks last year. ended up being something super simple - they needed to verify my identity again even tho i already did the id.me thing. once i got thru to someone they fixed it right away and i got all my back payments in 3 days. dont give up!!

That's actually really encouraging to hear! I'm hoping once I actually reach someone, it'll be something simple like that. Did you get interest on your back payments or just the regular benefit amount?
