PA UC showing 'disposition mismatch' for old agency jobs - claim under review
I'm seriously confused about my PA unemployment claim right now. Filed about 2 weeks ago and was getting ready to do my weekly certification when I noticed my dashboard says my claim is 'under review.' I work as a CNA through healthcare agencies (did a lot of agency work last year). The weird thing is I'm seeing 'active issues' for THREE different agencies I haven't even worked for in over a year! Each one says 'disposition mismatch' next to it. What the heck does that even mean?? I have a sinking feeling my claim is gonna get denied, but then why is PA UC having me file weekly certifications if they're just gonna deny me anyway? Has anyone dealt with this 'disposition mismatch' thing before? Should I keep filing my weekly claims or am I wasting my time?

disposition mismatch usually means the info you provided about why you left those jobs doesnt match what the employers reported to UC. like if you said you quit but they said you were fired or something... keep filing weekly claims even while under review!!! if they approve you later youll only get paid for weeks you certified for

•Omg thanks for explaining! That's weird because I've barely thought about those agencies in a year... I wonder if they even submitted anything? I'll definitely keep filing my weeklies then.

The 'disposition mismatch' occurs when there's a discrepancy between your reason for separation and what your former employers reported. Since these are agencies you worked for over a year ago, this might affect your base year calculation. PA UC uses wages from your base year (first 4 of the last 5 completed calendar quarters) to determine eligibility. You should: 1. Continue filing weekly certifications while your claim is under review 2. Check your Pennsylvania Treasury ReliaCard or direct deposit account regularly 3. Respond immediately to any questionnaires they send about these employers 4. Check your dashboard for correspondence requiring action Also ensure you're completing your work search activities (at least 2 per week) and documenting them properly.

I'm having the EXACT same issue!!!! Been waiting 3 weeks with disposition mismatch for TWO agencies I worked for briefly in early 2024. Called the UC number 47 TIMES yesterday and couldn't get through!!! So frustrating. Anyone know how long this takes to resolve?? Bills are piling up and I can't reach anyone!!!

•I was in this situation back in January. The disposition mismatch took them 5 weeks to resolve for me. I had trouble reaching them too until I discovered Claimyr (claimyr.com). It's a service that helps you get through to an actual PA unemployment agent without spending all day redialing. They got me connected in about 20 minutes. You can see how it works in their video demo: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2. Once I finally talked to someone, they explained exactly what info they needed from me and my claim was processed within a week after that call.

Disposition" mismatch specifically means'there s a conflict between how you and your former(employer) s classified your separation.'It s one of the most common issues for healthcare workers, especially those who work through multiple agencies. The good news is that since these are agencies you'haven t worked for in over a year, they may not be part of your base year calculation at all, depending on when exactly you worked for them. PA UC has to investigate ANY potential issues with ANY employer in your base year before they can process your claim. Keep certifying weekly while they sort this out. In most cases, they will contact these former employers, and if they'don t respond within a certain (timeframe usually 7-10 business)days , UC will proceed based on your information. You can expedite this by uploading any documentation you have about your separations from these agencies through yourdashboard.

•Is this why my UC says "monetarily eligible" but still has open issues? I worked for 5 different places last year (4 were agency) and I'm so confused if I'll ever get approved

they make u file weekly claims during review because if u get approved later theyll pay u for all those weeks u filed for! if u dont file weekly while waiting, u wont get back pay for those weeks even if ur claim gets approved

•That makes sense... so I definitely need to keep filing. I'm just stressed because rent is due next week and I was counting on this. Really wish the UC website explained these things better!

•That's reassuring! Did you have to talk to anyone at UC to get it resolved or did it just eventually update on its own?

I want to clarify something important: Even though you have to file weekly certifications during the review period, you also need to be actively fulfilling your work search requirements (minimum of 2 valid work search activities per week). Many claimants miss this and can face issues later. Your weekly certifications ask if you've completed your work search activities. If you answer 'yes' but haven't actually done them, you could face an overpayment issue later if your claim is approved. Make sure you're completing and documenting your work search each week, even during this review period.

•Thank you! I've been applying to at least 3-4 jobs each week and keeping screenshots of all my applications. I'm really trying to find work, but the healthcare hiring process is SO slow right now.

my friend had this happen and it was because she put that she quit one agency but they told unemployment she was fired for not accepting shifts. she had to do a phone interview to explain her side. maybe youll get scheduled for an interview?

•I haven't received any interview notification yet, but that makes sense. I think technically I was just inactive with those agencies rather than formally quitting or being fired. Healthcare agency work is so complicated with UC!

has anyone here ever had their disposition mismatch resolved in favor of the EMPLOYEE instead of the employer?? employers lie ALL THE TIME about why people leave!!

•Yes, it absolutely can be resolved in your favor. PA unemployment follows a 'preponderance of evidence' standard, which means they go with whichever side has more convincing evidence, not automatically with the employer. Healthcare workers often win these disputes when they can document that they were removed from schedules, had shifts cut, or faced substantial changes in working conditions. Keep any texts, emails, or schedule screenshots that support your side of the story.

One thing to check - did you possibly list these old agencies on your initial application? Sometimes people list all their jobs from the past couple years, not realizing UC only needs the ones from your base year. If you included them, UC has to verify them even if they're not actually relevant to your current claim. Might be worth calling to clarify if these older employers are even part of your base year calculation.

•I think that's exactly what happened! I listed every place I worked in the past 18 months because I wasn't sure what they needed. Should I try to call them to explain?

I've been dealing with Pennsylvania UC for years and "disposition mismatch" is actually pretty common in healthcare, especially with agency work. The system automatically flags ANY discrepancy between what you reported and what employers submit - even if it's something minor like different wording for the same situation. Here's what probably happened: You listed those agencies when filing (which is normal since people aren't sure what to include), so UC has to investigate them even if they're not in your base year. The agencies might have reported you as "end of assignment" while you put "lack of work" or vice versa. Keep filing weekly! I can't stress this enough. Even if it takes 6-8 weeks to resolve, you'll get backpay for every week you certified. And honestly, most of these mismatch cases resolve in the claimant's favor once UC actually investigates instead of just going with whatever the employer initially reported.

•This is really helpful context! I'm new to all this UC stuff and had no idea that listing those old agencies would trigger automatic investigations. The "end of assignment" vs "lack of work" explanation makes total sense - agency work is so different from regular employment and I probably didn't describe the separations the same way they did. Thanks for the reassurance about backpay too, I was worried I might lose out on benefits even if they eventually approve me. Really appreciate everyone's advice here!
