PA UC payment shows as 'trans numbers' but direct deposit hasn't arrived - normal wait time?
Hey all - I've been fighting with my claim for what feels like an eternity, but FINALLY got approved last Friday! I noticed the transaction numbers for payment showed up in my portal yesterday (Monday), which got me super excited, but it's Tuesday afternoon now and still no money in my bank account. Is this normal? How long does it typically take for the direct deposit to actually hit your account after those transaction numbers appear? I'm down to my last $27 and have bills due on Thursday, so I'm getting really anxious about when this money will actually be available. Anyone been through this recently?

congrats on getting approved!! the same thing happened to me last month. took exactly 2 business days after the trans numbers showed up. so if they appeared monday you should see it tomorrow (wednesday) most likely

It depends on your bank too!!! Some banks take longer to process ACH transfers than others. When I was on UC last year, Wells Fargo always took 3 full business days but my friend with a credit union got his money just 1 day after the trans numbers showed up. The PA UC system is SO FRUSTRATING with how they communicate about these things - they never tell you the exact timeline anywhere on their website!!!

my brother waited FIVE DAYS last month even tho the transaction showed right away. PA unemployment is a total mess even after you get approved. just wait a few more days before you start calling them.

I've been dealing with the PA UC system for months now and I can tell you that calling them directly is basically impossible. I tried for TWO WEEKS straight and couldn't get through - just busy signals or getting disconnected. I finally used a service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that got me connected to a rep within 20 minutes. THE PAYMENT SYSTEM IS DESIGNED TO MAKE YOU WAIT AS LONG AS POSSIBLE!!! I'm convinced they hold our money on purpose to earn interest on it while we struggle to pay bills. They approved me then made me wait SIX DAYS before I got paid. Then when I called to complain they acted like that was completely normal. THE SYSTEM IS RIGGED AGAINST US!!

Just to add some clarity here - the transaction numbers appearing means your payment has been authorized, but there's an entire electronic payment process that has to happen after that. The timing can also be affected by when your payment was processed. If it was authorized late in the day Monday, the ACH transfer might not have initiated until Tuesday morning, which could push your deposit to Thursday. One thing to check: are you sure you're set up for direct deposit and not the Money Network card? Sometimes people get confused about which payment method they selected. If you're supposed to be getting the Money Network card, you would need to wait for that to arrive in the mail.

•That's a good point! I just double-checked my payment preferences in the portal and it definitely says direct deposit to my checking account. When I first filed, they gave me the option for either direct deposit or the card and I chose direct deposit. The transaction details specifically say "Direct Deposit" next to the payment amount.
